3.0 out of 5 stars Pages torn and double printing errors
Disappointed in the page quality. Several pages were torn but no damage to the cover. There are some of the last pages that have double printing that makes them hard to see or use. Not much on the how to of diy decorations, mostly pictures. Past books had more how to do the things in them. Hopefully the recipes are good.
4.0 out of 5 stars Finally new ideas and recipes
This is year 24 for purchasing this book. The last few years were severely disappointing but we use the back pages for recording the holidays and planning every year, including what is wanted or needed the next: wrapping paper, bows, lights to replace, ideas for decorating differently. This year the photos are still a bit overly busy and lacking in rich depth, but the Dutch idea is a breath of fresh air. They should have expanded on it more. The food sections have some new recipes and seem more in line with current tastes, the Pork Tenderloin with shaved vegetables will be a winner along with the double berry french toast and fun twist on the crudités. Happy to see a traditional favorite getting back on track while allowing me to have a place to prepare and prep for the holidays. My family will love some of these new recipes for the holidays as well.
1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
This book has changed so much, and it's not just this edition. I've been receiving Christmas with Southern Living for about 15 years, and this may be my last one. The quality of the content has decreased so dramatically over the last few years. I had hoped that maybe this year it would be better, and have some of the older qualities that I look for in this book, but, again, I was disappointed. I didn't feel like there was anything that even came close to the older versions of a true Southern Christmas, with some of the old true Southern traditions. Seems like it's trying to hard to fit in, instead of stand out
4.0 out of 5 stars Page Torn Inside
Brand new books shouldn't have torn pages inside. Otherwise, product is as described.
3.0 out of 5 stars Content was disappointing
This issue seemed to be very formal. There were no family photos, little given to a more relaxed decor and it just seemed to be suited for a higher class of patrons. I guess I was missing the cozy feel, something that would appeal to more people.
