5.0 out of 5 stars No mo crying

T. · July 9, 2022

My son hates reading, writing, and anything school work. I have to sit next to him listen to him cry and complaints and I get stressed out. There’s always tears. He loves to play Roblox. He can read decently and could relate to the book’s questions that I don’t even have to tell him to do the work. For summer, he does 3 pages a day on his own and house chores before he gets his iPad. This book is a game changer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exceeded Expectations

My son who has ADHD hates reading and writing, but he loves Minecraft. Don’t judge this book by its cover. He enjoyed reading about and then comparing and contrasting creepers and skeletons. He learned some great vocabulary words and spelling by matching and making list of synonyms and antonyms from a short passage about a dragon. I think he’s also picking up some good to know insider info about Minecraft in the context he is reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars How do you get a reluctant reader to read?

S.M. · November 14, 2018

I had just about given up. Too much pressure. I was angry with my son. He was resentful towards me. Then Minecraft swooped in and resolved our little situation. The goal for his reading assignments is to summarize the main idea and things of that nature. Since I know nothing about Minecraft, he had to explain things to me. I suggest The Farting Creeper as another great interactive choice. Evidently, Creepers aren't meant to fart! It has my children in stitches. I'm just glad to hear him read and follow through on the analysis questions that are typically a part of his homework. Now that he's gotten the gist of it through these materials, it's much easier for him to do the same with class readings. Amen!

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect

This book covers everything in a clear and fun way. The worksheets are not too long, perfect for a single sitting, or a couple pages for a longer session. Great for summer bridge or a supplement to homeschooling due to COVID. My only problem is my son is farther beyond than I thought, so he loved the books but needed me to either teach the concept of every single question or basically do it for him. I will try the next grade level lower.

My son struggles with reading motivation, but this book is great! He even ASKS me if he can work on it! It’s helping his reading and writing with great activities on a topic he is interested in.

5.0 out of 5 stars Homeschooling use

B. · March 21, 2023

We use this for homeschooling. We’ve completed the parts I believe to be appropriate for 3rd grade. I do wish that the sections had a separation between the grades though. Seems in line with what the grade should be learning though. He likes the Minecraft references.

5.0 out of 5 stars We love this

Good quality work book, really helpful for our son’s unique educational needs due to his disability.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for kids who love minecraft but need help with school!

S. · February 22, 2018

Awesome for kids who won't talk about anything else. My son is in 1st grade, but loved the grade 1-2 version so much that I got this too. This one is interesting to see what concepts he WILL be learning - it has more fantasy stories in it to read to him, and builds vocab. The grades 1-2 has a little too much explanatory text i.e. what is a creeper etc. I prefer the reading success books to the math books...but probably because my son needs more help with reading. I'm sure the math ones good for kids who need catching up with math...ALL awesome tho. Thanks for producing these!

Great book for kids who love Minecraft

I like the variety of assignments in this book. Great for kids who don’t really care for reading.

Good value
