I liked this book a lot because it’s a daily read with words spoken by tribal members. Very enlightening, giving credit where it’s due.

This book is small so I can easily throw it in my backpack. It has daily quotes from Native Americans. And it also lists some historical dates and what happened on those dates. Easy to read because of its daily calendar format.

4.0 out of 5 stars Recommended for young adults or parents to read with their kids

Not what I expected, but still useful. I was hoping for more depth- a series of stories, teachings, or meditations to help me get closer to creator, but the book was very small was just a page for each day with a short quote from a tribal leader and/or a "did you know?" fact of some kind or a "this day in Native history" fact. Each month there was one 'red road lesson', most of which any adult would already be familiar with. That being said, I would recommend that parents buy this book and read the date with their young ones, or perhaps give it as a gift to a 'coming of age' young adult the year before their vision quest or maybe as a gift for a girl's sunrise ceremony (or whatever your tribe's equivalent). It is an easy read, very appropriate for young people. Parents- it would take two minutes to do it every morning with your kid, and once a month you could discuss that 'red road lesson', and expand on it with your own teachings.

It's a wonderful book, although it's a bit small. That's not on the company though as I should have paid more attention to the size. The book is packed full of insightful wisdom.
