I purchased this book a few months after I purchased the only other Nurse Informatics Exam review book available on Bolo. The formatting and information were much better in this book than the other one and there were quite a bit of test taking tips in the book as well. I only have two complaints. The first is that It seemed that the "supplemental material" available online (advertised on the inside back cover) is nothing more than the book in PDF format. If you wanted the extra test questions they were advertising, be prepared to pay for them. The second problem is that there's no index in this book. It would have been much easier to review and study specific topics if there had been some sort of way to look for exactly what I needed aside from flipping through the entire book.

I have purchased the Ambulatory Care Nursing Exam Secrets Study Guide previously and it helped my pass the Ambulatory Care Nursing Exam. I will say that I have several Informatics Nurse Study guides and have taken an online preparatory class and this guide has brought up subjects that were never mentioned in any of the other study materials I have been working with. So if those subjects appear on the actual exam, I will have your study guide to thank for alerting me to the information that was missing in the other study guides.

I was able to my pass my certification partly because of this book. It had a lot of what was needed to cover the material. It also contains 150 test questions which really helped me test my knowledge. The answers are in the back of the book with rationales for each question which really helped. Many of the rationales explained other informatics-related topics also useful for the exam. In conjunction with this book, I also recommend to anyone taking the certification that they also purchase the practice test questions from the ANCC store and read the ANA Scopes and Standards for Nursing Informatics. Those were the only three things that I used.
