About this item:
Fate Worlds is an expansion for the Fate Core System. Flexible RPG systems like Fate Core are terrific if you have the time and energy to put into building a world. But we also realize that sometimes extensive prep just isn't feasible. The good news? You can still experience the Fate awesomeness with the help of the Fate Worlds expansion. Fate Worlds Volume Two: Worlds in Shadow is the second in a two-volume set. In Worlds in Shadow, you get six rich story settings. Each setting includes custom mechanics, NPCs, and story elements-all ready to go using the system provided in Fate Core. We've got you covered regardless of your flavor of RPG choice. Be a knight in a giant robot suit in Camelot Trigger, or get on the grift with Crime World. Fight off alien invaders in the court of Louis XV in Court/Ship, or indulge your time travel fantasies in Timeworks. Whether you stick with one world or go on a grand tour, Fate Worlds will provide everything you need to develop your Fate Core adventure except the snacks. Fate Worlds. All the worlds. Your stage.

5.0 out of 5 stars Got it for Camelot Trigger, found myself entrapped in No Exit
Before reading this I would have told you that Fate is too optimistic and simple to correctly do a a horror game properly. That the nature of the game and its mechanics wouldn't allow for such a setting to a high degree. Then I read No Exit, one of the settings in this book and I changed my mind completely! It isn't the pulse-pounding assertive horror found in a Lovecraftian inspired game. Rather, it is subtle, claustrophobic, confusing, and much more personal. Give the players an overall sense of wrongness, and the more they try to fight it the more hopeless and constricting it becomes. Now, to be clear, this book has an assortment of great settings in it, and No Exit is simply one of them. However, it stood out to me as the most eye-opening on how much Fate can really deliver on any genre, as well as a type of horror setting I've never really seen anywhere else. Court/Ship is another great creepy setting, and Camelot Trigger is one of the best action settings ever, on par with Masters of Umdaar. If any one of the six settings in the book seem to be your strong suit, then I recommend getting this.

The book is excellent and has some valuable content. When it come to Fate you really want to acquire as many different resources as possible.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good idea generator.
Great set of ideas you can use in your games with a bit of modification. I love sculpting the rules for games so I think I could have come up with many of those listed here but I think this is a great resource for newer GMs.

A great tool to starting a game with friends without as much time devoted to game prep.
