Editorial Reviews

Review

"This book is very logically organized and is extremely easy to navigate. It’s SAT-test-specific and is not just a random list of elevated vocabulary words like most other books. What I like the most is that the author analyzed past tests and included reoccurring vocabulary words from both the reading and the grammar section." ― Christina

"Great book! Very useful to master the vocabulary questions on the SAT. Totally recommendable, especially for international students whose native language is not English." ― Mateo

"I love this vocabulary workbook. It breaks it down into manageable chunks, allows the student to learn at their own pace, using their own learning style to accomplish their goal of improving the SAT scores. Great resource for learning the vocabulary on the newly formatted SAT." ―

I am impressed with the quality and content of this book. I have both my 10th and 7th year children using this as part of their home school curriculum. I have not been disappointed. I have a child who struggles with learning and one that does not, this is the first source I have come across that helps them both advance. I can see and hear the improvements.

5.0 out of 5 stars SAT-test-specific (not just a random list of elevated vocab words), unique method, easy to navigate

C. · April 4, 2020

This book is very logically organized and is extremely easy to navigate. It is positively different from other SAT books in that the author based on her own experiences with learning has come up with a unique system of methods to help individuals understand the meaning of certain words. Another important thing about the book is that it's SAT-test-specific and is not just a random list of elevated vocabulary words like most other books. What I like the most is that the author analyzed past tests and included reoccurring vocabulary words from both the reading and the grammar section. My favorite section is double meanings. For instance, solvent for many students is a chemical compound that's dissolved. However, on the SAT reading solvent means able to pay off debts. I highly recommend this book!!

I enjoy the book very much. so easy to use and definition of words, along with a sentence.

3.0 out of 5 stars Simple SAT Vocab review

W.C.D. · April 1, 2020

This book was a relatively simple review of vocabulary words. I do not know if it would actually prep you for the SAT. I liked the division of sections, but felt that there was not enough review with each word. They could use the word in two different ways to help reinforce the meaning and connotation of each word. I feel like this book would more appropriately be leveled for upper middle school and lower high school vocabulary review.I received a copy of this book from the publisher; the opinions are my own.

5.0 out of 5 stars great book

I love this book. SAT prep is like a wild - wild west. It's unclear what to focus on, especially in the verbal portion of the test. It's well organized and offers insight into which words to focus on during the SAT prep. I created physical flashcards form each lesson and started to see my comprehension of the passages improving.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's not your regular SAT word list

Y.N. · March 1, 2020

My nephew is preparing for the SAT and I found this book for him to help him get better at the verbal section. The book seems very well organized. I wanted him to be able to break his vocabulary study up into parts. Here, he can choose the words to learn according to the sections he is struggling with. Highly recommend!

Worth the money

Good book

Great help!

M. · April 3, 2021

Great book! Very useful to master the vocabulary questions on the SAT. Totally recommendable, especially for international students whose native language is not English.

Would be better if there were more questions for each word

L.C. · July 15, 2020

For me the format of the book is good but there is a lack of depth when it comes to actually testing the knowledge and usage of each word. There is about one test questions for each word. There should be a lot more ways of testing usage and memory of each word in order for learning to really take place.
