5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely informative
This book is great! While most college planning books prepare juniors and seniors, this book gets kids to start thinking about the process from ninth grade. It provides a step by step plan for thinking about what interest them, how to get organized, create proper study habits, find a mentor - all the way through to what to do when they find the college of choice. My 9th grader started reading it and has already shared that he has found this to be helpful. I highly recommend it!
5.0 out of 5 stars The most helpful tool for college planning!!
I have given this as gifts to my friends whose children are college bound. There is so much useful information in the book that is helpful to the parents and the students. Sometimes it is easier for a resource to tell you what you need to do then your parents. College prep is so overwhelming. Totally recommend!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great info for this older mom
This book breaks down the time line of what you need to go and when to do it in order to get into college. I read it first and now my 10 grader has to read it, we’re in this together!
2.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money!
The content of this book is very weak and there is absolutely nothing that would entice a high school student to use this book. Perhaps it might be useful for a ninth grader who is just starting to consider the college admissions process.'
5.0 out of 5 stars Insightful and essential
I wish I had something like this when I was in high school. An interactive, sequential, journal-style approach to organizing and understanding strengths and weaknesses without judgement. Truly a resource for kids that struggle with planning and execution.
5.0 out of 5 stars Straightforward planner
I wish I had such a straightforward game plan to navigate high school with college as my goal! The College Bound Planner takes the student from 9th grade to becoming a college freshman. So many great prompts throughout to help stay on track. Such an organized method for what can be very overwhelming and chaotic! Don’t hesitate to pick up this must have read!
2.0 out of 5 stars Not much in here
I hoped this book would help with my children's college search however it was much simpler than I hoped. The description talks about guidance for freshman which sounded useful, but really the advice wasn't much - join a sports team if you like sport, join the band if you play an instrument and a few more obvious things. Yes you should talk to your guidance counselor and go on campus visits isn't that obvious? Its a small and light book, it doesn't help that a large chunk of the pages are blank for notes which does make sense if its a planner, but the rest is too simple. Its worth noting the authors have another book "The College Bound Organizer" it isn't clear what the difference is.
5.0 out of 5 stars MUST HAVE
This book is a must have for high school students applying to college. It helps navigate the application process. Very informative and a great resource. Easy to understand and helpful for students and parents.
