5.0 out of 5 stars Must for Autistic Older Teens
Information is simple and age appropriate without talking down to autistic young adults. References to 'work' and 'school' keep it from sounding condescending. Much of the information assumes that the student is or will be living independently or in a group setting. My 17yo student has yet to ask, " Is this a baby book?" I and my student are very pleased with this book.

Well written
4.0 out of 5 stars GREAT BOOK BUT GET RID OF THE FORWARD!!
This is a wonderful resource for navigating life skills, not just for autistic people, but for everyone in general! Includes communication, healthy, safety, hygiene, planning for the day and other situations, getting help when you need it, community needs, etc. I love the charts and hands on graphics to plan things out and have a reference to go back to that is personal for each persons needs.HOWEVER, the forward written in this book by Judith Newman NEEDS TO GO! I ripped it out before even giving it to my son. I couldn’t imagine being handed a book to help me out and the second paragraph into it speaks so demeaningly about the skills I struggle with. These comments are ableist and rude!
5.0 out of 5 stars Very helpful
I use this workbook to lead conversation in therapy sessions. It is very helpful and the topics were created specifically for teens and young adults diagnosed with ASD.
5.0 out of 5 stars huge help
this book has been a huge help for us as parents to help our daughter learn things we might not think about, its awesome.
3.0 out of 5 stars Not really for high functioning ASD
This book is OK but it doesn't really work for my higher functioning clients. Was hoping there would be more about transition out of high school and whats next.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great resource for ASD clients
Excellent book for therapists looking for activities for teens and young adults on the spectrum.
5.0 out of 5 stars Guide to hep them
Great book for young boys to men about taboo issues not normally talked about
Very practical, easy to use and effective
Very practical in finding solutions and asking for help
Very basic and straightforward in a good way
I needed a book that had clear concrete directions on how someone with ASD can learn independent living skills. This is the exact book for that purpose. It was exactly what I needed. I looked at one other book, but it was too complicated with too much narrative. This met my need perfectly and I recommended it to a family I was working with.
So what
Simplistic and pointless
