🐿️🍁 I don’t want to include too many photos and deny you the joy I felt first seeing it. The publisher obviously knew they had something truly special in hand. (NYT Kids Bestseller) They put a great deal into the quality of the production. First of all hadn’t realized it was this big—about 12 X11. The cover coloring truly pops and they have further heightened the scene by over painting some of the oak leaves with this perfect copper metallic wash. The story is exactly what I wanted— opening a young child to the joys of the changing seasons while using that to help little tikes to understand their changing emotions. The illustrations and depth of color are spectacular and yet not too complicated for the target age. Already ordered another for our Village library. Think of what fun it will be to take a blanket outside maybe with a picnic lunch and perhaps read it there for the first time together. Enjoy!

This is a great story for any age, but my 4 year old cracks up reading it. The story is simple and funny, easy to follow and has cute graphics. The packaging of the book is cute as well with reflects on the leaves. It's a nice added touch. I definitely recommend reading as fall-time is here!

I thought this was such a cute book I've bought three copies! One each for my two sets of grandchildren (ranging in age from one to five years old) and one for me to keep at my house. It's very clever, and is a nice addition for my fall children's book collection.

We received the book today and have read it 3 times. My toddler loves this book...the animated squirrel, bird's comical reactions to squirrels overreacting. We love the art work, especially the cover and how it illuminates the leaves. Great book to explain fall! I love that it's hardcover too.

The hardcover has just the right amount of copper colored foil on the leaves, title, and author/illustrator information which make it impossible to pass on the shelf. The bright brash colors and simplicity of the illustrations is complementary to the text and the hyper over-acting of the squirrel character likening him to actor Jim Cary. The very primary science aspect of this book is engaging, and the facts about Autumn in the back of the book extends learning in an entertaining way. Every environmental educator will appreciate the learning opportunities this book offers. Reviewed by Books Children Read.

Love this book!
I read a lot of stories to children (I have three) and it's always a pleasure when I find a book that I love as much as they do. This story is educational (you learn about the life cycle of an oak), cute and well written. The rhyming elements are great for early readers and the illustrations are well executed. A perfect autumn book.

Such a nice book and great story. My daughter thinks the squirrel is hilarious. I myself like the informational aspect and the playful story. Great for our autumn book shelf!
