I work construction and I've gone through many a thermos. Mine has lasted me over 13 years and counting. Its been dropped many times and has dents and scratches all over but it still has never leaked and it keeps my milk COLD! The stainless steel piece that covers the lid/cup came off after many drops but i just glued it back on. This 2nd Thermos was actually purchased for my daughter for xmas because she has gone through so many looking for a good one and finally asked for one. This thing is FAR SUPERIOR to any of the glass lined models, in insulating ability and especially durability. It's not so fashionable for the ladies but if they want a thermos that holds enough and doesn't LEAK, this is the one.

I bought this for my husband as he is a coffee addict, and let me tell you, you CANNOT beat Thermos quality. I am a brand loyalty person, but if a brand ticks me off, I am not afraid to move on. Thermos has never lost my loyalty. My husband has experimented with this thing over and over, taking temp readings after hours and hours, and it holds true. This will keep your liquids HOT for far more then 24 hours, and it is tough and durable so that even a year later it looks brand new.The steel on the cap will more then likely come off. Ours did, but who cares? You can slip it right back on and just remove the cap by grabbing the base. We've tries reglueing it back on, but even using glue for dental ceramics it won't stick, it's probably the insulation material making it wonky. We never use the cap anyways, my husband just pours the coffee into his Thermos travel mug.And do be careful when handling it with the cap off and the plug out. My mother in law dropped the thermos while washing it and the inside rim bent. The metal is very thin along the lip, so we were able to bend it back and it's good as new!

This product can hold ice water for up to three days if it’s filled with ice. It will keep boiling water hot for at least 24 hours. I am thoroughly pleased with this item and I’ve even bought multiple items
5.0 out of 5 stars How I managed to ruin my Thermos after 15 plus years.
I've had one of these for over 15 years. Hot coffee stays hot all day, and is hot enough to drink the following day. I recently tried cleaning with some hot water with descale compound and let it soak overnight, and the thermos just stopped working. My fault entirely. Instructions say to not use chemical cleaners, just warm soapy water only. They also say (on the Thermos website) not to put it in the dishwasher, but I had been doing that for years with no problem. Boy was I glad when I found I could replace my old one with a new one. The label on the new one says "24 hours", and you can believe it.As for the person that gave this a one star review, stating “My midnight blue one lasted a few months before beginning to leak”, this model has a stainless steel finish, and is not available in any other color.Yes, the bottom portion will collect some water when you wash it, but it all comes out quickly when you turn it upside down. 4.99999 Stars.
