My husband wanted a larger glass measuring cup for storing the hummingbird food that he makes.This is perfect for his needs.It is good, sturdy glass and the lid fits quite securely making an air tight seal. Even the handle is perfect size.The only thing I would advise is to pack it a little better with more than just wrapping in bubble wrap. A sliver of glass was chipped on the bottom of the bowl.Fortunately, it was minor and doesn't leak so it isn't an issue for us.We highly recommend this bowl.

I really like that this is glass - I can make and leave things in it without worrying about chemicals in plastic bowls leaching into it. Having the handle is great - it makes it easy to pour in general and it's nice if I ever have any hot liquids in it. I also really like that it has a lid for it - I can easily throw it in the fridge overnight, or leave it on the counter depending on what's in it and have it covered tightly. I also like the measurements on the side - it makes measuring things much easier. It's pretty durable - I think I got lucky, but it was pushed off my counter (which is average height) onto a hard floor and it didn't break. I certainly won't be trying to drop it again any time soon, but overall I feel like this is a great bowl. I'd recommend it.

This is our second of these. I left my wife’s first one at church or something. Since this is frequently used in our kitchen, I bought a new one. Great for mixing, marinating, storing, etc. I like the size of it and the lid that goes with it!
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice, heavy piece, inadequate markings
This is a nice, heavy measuring cup useful for mixing as well -- 8 cups! The lid fits very snugly. The only thing I'm unhappy about is that on both the U.S. and metric sides, the smaller measurement intervals stop as the volume increases. The photos show what I mean. You don't get an incremental measuring line for, say, 5 1/2 cups. They stopped marking 1/2 cups at the 4 1/2 cup point. And on the ml side, they stopped marking every 100 ml at 1000 ml. So if you want to measure 1100 ml, you're eyeballing it between 1000-1500 ml. Why??? Otherwise, love it.

I purchased this bowl to make sourdough in, I wanted to be able to see how much the dough has risen, so I am happy that the bowl has markings/measurements on it. My first loaf using this bowl was great, as I could accurately see when my dough doubled. I plan to use this bowl while camping in my RV, it can be used for other purposes too. I try to be sure my purchases have multiply uses. I am happy with this purchase.

This cup fits the need for a big measuring cup that can be used for a 2 quart mixing bowl! The angle of the handle is a little awkward especially if it's full and heavy. But it's useful and I like the snap on/off plastic lid, which is very handy and allows easy storage in the fridge.
