The grand but simple beauty of the Anchor Hocking Monaco cake plate adds extra grace and easy display to cakes, pies, and pastries. Flip over both pieces to reconfigure, and the stand transforms into a lovely punch bowl. The Monaco styling includes wide-wale interior ribbing on stand and lid and a generous spherical finial. The cake base is textured beneath to facilitate carrying, and the piece is stable in either of its shapes. Assembled as a cake plate, it measures 11 inches in diameter and stands 10-1/2 inches high. The dome rests 4-1/2 inches above the plate at the center. Both pieces are safe in the dishwasher. --Emily Bedard

I got this for my wife to replace the one I broke. When I picked up the box, my first thought was that it seemed a bit heavy for a cake plate. Sure enough, when she opened it, she immediately fell in love with it. It is very solid, thick glass, beautifully made. I found no blemishes or other flaws. It sits very solidly, even with large cakes in it. I highly recommend this one.

When I need glass "anything" for my kitchen for daily use I always look for an Anchor Hocking product. I have used their products for 44 years and counting! This heavy/sturdy Cake Set is just what I knew it would be. It has thicker glass than almost every other cake set that I have seen. It will not chip or break easily. It has a design that is included deep into it's overall form. It will protect a single, double, or taller cake easily. The cake dome is not for the meek. It is heavier than most. Weighs about as much as my cut crystal cake set from Ireland. I like that fact and love this product overall. It shines brilliantly on my kitchen counter and looks very nice. I only had to replace my other cake set as my husband broke it accidentally. Thrilled that I could buy this lovely replacement on Bolo. If you want sturdy glass wares then I highly recommend Anchor Hocking. I have glasses in my cupboard that are over 30 years old and still look new! Quality stuff for the money!

LOVE this cake stand and the price comparing it to "competition". Real, heavy glass feels classier and more impressive than acrylic/ plastic and the glass is easier to clean hygienically than wood. Looks nice on the counter filled or not. Tall enough for a 3 layer cake and wide enough for 9" cakes.Bonus, it transforms into a punch bowl! I can't remember the last time that I need a punch bowl, but if the need should ever arise, I'm covered! LOL.Keeping it from 5 stars- the first arrived broken so I had to exchange them and it took a while and the glass has some flaws to it if you look closely, most annoying are the little specks on the inside of the dome in an unpatterned area, that when hand washing I always think is dirty. It is quite heavy, so kids and the elderly may have trouble lifting the lid. The weight and slipperyness is not appealing when trying to hand wash.

The cake pedestal and dome is beautiful. I really needed an accessory to elevate my countertop space and this purchase did the trick. The glass heavy and well constructed.The Anchor Hocking Monaco Cake Set with Ribbed Dome serves four (4) purposes:1) Adds sophistication to my kitchen2) Functions as breadbox for everyday use3) Functions as cake pedestal for social events4) Can function as a punch bowl.One note of caution: There was damage during the delivery creating a hair-line crack in the dome resulting in me not being able to use as punch bowl. However, Bolo did refund me fully and I will be making another purchase replacement.
