About this item:
The machine-made decanter distinguishes by an elegant and complex design. Riedel whole-heartedly believes all wines - young and old, red, white or sparkling - can be enhanced by decanting. Riedel tip: Use bottle cleaners to remove stains inside the decanter.
Made in Austria by the world's most-renowned wineglass maker (Riedel Crystal, founded in 1756), this decanter allows sediment to settle, clarifying any older red wine. Even with a young, sediment-free wine, the decanter makes a beautiful serving vessel by displaying the wine's color. It's machine blown of brilliant crystal and conforms to Riedel's exacting standards: colorless, transparent, and thin-walled. It holds 37-1/8 ounces, ample for a 750-milliliter bottle of wine, and measures 9 inches high. Its graceful, outwardly curved neck provides a secure grip when pouring. Riedel crystal is used by fine restaurants all over the world and thus must stand up to frequent trips through a dishwasher. But because crystal has a soft, coarse surface to convey intense aromas, Riedel recommends the decanter be hand washed. --Fred Brack

5.0 out of 5 stars Riedel never disappoints
Delicate, sturdy, and a great size. This decanter checks all of the boxes. It is elegant enough to use on a finely set table, yet simple enough to use everyday. Love it.
5.0 out of 5 stars This is my go-to decanter because it works and will not break the bank.
I have several of these decanters because they work so well when I am with friends. Also, I do not need to worrying if the glass chips, which has happened several types because of roughty friends. If you are an average wine drinker like myself, and you do not want to be worrying about a fancy and costly decanter, this is the better option on the market.
5.0 out of 5 stars looks small, but the wine fits!
This is a perfect little decanter with the quality that you come to expect from Riedel. When I first unpacked it, I thought that it was small and could not fit the entire 750mL of wine, but I was wrong. Perfect fit, perfect amount of aeration. The only thing I was extremely concerned about was the packaging: or should I say the lack of packaging... it was just the store thin cardboard box with the thinnest layer of bubble wrap on the OUTSIDE of the Riedel box. Mailing label was on the thin bubble wrap. I thought for sure that the decanter would be in shards, but was pleasantly surprised it was not. So we can add durability and sturdiness as one of the features of this decanter.
5.0 out of 5 stars Stayed clear
Old one stained easily, this one seems more resistant and a better quality
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice for one-bottle dinners
This is my 2nd decanter. I've had a glass one for about 4 years that can easily handle (2) 750ml bottles, and while I love that decanter it seems too big when I only want to decant 1 bottle so I can have a glass or two. I decided to try the Riedel decanter after looking around a while because its diameter won't take up too much space in the cupboard and there were some decent reviews on it. My first impression was that it's really thin walled, but I guess that's a difference between crystal and glass (yes, I'm ignorant on that subject). However since I don't plan to drop it, it shouldn't be a problem. It seems perfect for (1) 750ml bottle which I pour through a decanting funnel to aerate it (I've uploaded a picture to show this decanter with a full bottle in it). After I have a glass or two, the neck of the decanter makes it really easy to pour the rest back into the bottle even without a funnel. So while you don't have the most exposed surface area with a full bottle, this is the perfect size for the dinner table to hold what's left after you've poured a couple glasses.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great decanter
Beautiful crystal decanter with a clean, elegant design. It pours nicely without having to turn it completely upside down like for some decanters that trap wine. I like that it’s also easy to clean, unlike some of the more intricately designed decanters.
5.0 out of 5 stars YES it does hold a full bottle of wine!
From the photos, I really didn't think it would hold an entire bottle of wine. I was wrong. It looks great - nice, unusual, elegant shape. Petite size. Love it.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good decanter
Quality is good. The shape is so nice too
Looks and works amazing
Use it almost everyday..love the style and fits my metal aeration funnel perfectly. Wide surface and open spout make this one my top pick for decanters.. glad I bought it, will buy again and wholeheartedly recommend it.

Excellent decanter for use with a wine shower funnel
This Riedel decanter is actually designed for half bottles (37.5cl) rather than full size bottles (75cl). But it is extremely easy to handle and pleasant to use - particularly if you have a wine shower funnel such as the WMF, or the Rabbit Swish, or Wine Weaver. Aerating any still wine is much preferable to simply decanting it and if you aerate the wine as you pour it into one of these decanters it is not important that there is not much space in the decanter above the wine: the aeration is complete as soon as the bottle is emptied into the decanter, and there is no need to leave it for hours.
