The gun is very well built. I paid more to get one that will last. My previous cheap non Lincoln grease gun had a thumb lock on Follower Rod that broke off 2nd time I used it. This one has a slot in the housing that you pull the rod back & slips into. Nothing to break. From photos it looked like it had a push button air bleeder but it has a star head bolt that you can either loosen to bleed air or so what the instructions say and open the head 1 1/2 turns to bleed air the push plunger to get grease to flow. I didn’t need to do any of those. I unscrewed the head and plunger, pulled the follower rod back and locked it put in a grease cartridge, screwed the head back on and tightened it. I released the follower rod and turned it 90 degrees & it went right down. I then pumped plunger maybe 3-4 times and grease started coming out the tip. I put the handy plastic cover back on the tip end to keep out dirt and it is ready to grease my tractors and equipment. I’ll use this for years to come.

These Lincoln grease guns do the job with no headache. No more headache with the no name cheap ones...just spend a few extra bucks and get this. I bought a second to keep around and not have to change out. Works perfect.

This grease gun is REALLY worth the money.First off, it is very well made. The top portion that contains the "pump" is a casting. It has a both a vent and another fitting to allow purging of the grease. Second, it has a feature that allows the T handle to push plunger to prime the grease in the cylinder. The T handle can the be rotated 90 degrees, so it does not extend from the end of the cylinder. This makes it really easy to prime the gun. The plunger can also be removed and reversed for use with bulk grease instead of a cartridge. I did not use this feature, but it look like it would work well.For the past 8 years, I have been using a 4 ounce, mini-grease gun to flush to the wheel bearings on my boat trailer. It would usually take an hour and I would have grease all of me and the grease gun and there would be lots of swearing involved. With this grease gun, it took about 10 minutes per wheel with very little mess. It simply works great.If you decide to buy, do yourself a favor and read the instructions. Some of the features were not obvious to me when I first looked at it.

I have been working on my own vehicles and equipment for over 4 decades and have used grease guns over that whole time period. Apparently I only ever had bargain basement ones. When I purchased a new zero turn lawnmower I wanted to get a grease gun that I kept exclusively for the mower and keep it loaded with grease recommended by the manufacturer.Searching Bolo and reading a bunch of reviews, I settled on this Lincoln brand, I’ll never look back! This grease gun is head and shoulders above the others that I have and this will not be the last one I buy.It would be nice if they were offered in several different colors, that way you could easily identify which one to grab for the specific grease you are planning to use.
