5.0 out of 5 stars Fits most passenger vehicle oil filters
Love this claw over any oil filter wrench, grips nice, does the job every time. position it evenly and it will crush an oil filter before it slips. Very nice for those oil filters changed by God himself. Easy to use with most flex head ratchets for different positions. Do not use on cartridge style filters, (bmw Mercedes dodge Kia etc.) as these require the proper size oil filter sockets. Prefer to use a ball detent button ratchet for easy removal of tool. Otherwise snap on ratchets grab a little hard and be clumsy to remove. Essential technican/mechanic tool due to the frequency of disposable filters in light duty automotive and value.
5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use
This tool have an amazing grip to the oil filters, fit amazing and it’s really functional, also the quality on the built it’s really good. Recommend 100%
5.0 out of 5 stars Fits 2001 F150 and 2019 Toyota Camry
Fits the big filters for my 2001 Ford f150 4.6 and small filters like a 2019 toyota camry. Only issue i have is when I install it doesn't really grab like it should but if you can get it on it does great for removing over-torqued oil filters. It is good quality. I don't see it breaking anytime soon and it way better than traditional oil filter wrenches that sometimes damage the oil filter instead of removing it
5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome product!
I needed this to help remove my oil filter on my car which is in a tough to reach spot. Works great. The arms pinch the filter which gives you enough friction to remove it no problem! Simple and easy to use. Definitely would recommend for a DIY oil change on your car!
4.0 out of 5 stars Works as intended
Works great on my 08 Outback XT where the oil filter is crammed between the headers.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works great for Subarus, with one exception
If you have a Subaru with the exhaust manifold wrapped around the oil filter, this will do nicely. Just a word of warning, however -I have found the fingers on this have tremendous trouble gripping the grippy material found on the tops of FRAM oil filters. It removed my old Wix filter without issue, however I opted to forego changing the oil filter when I changed my oil this weekend due to the FRAM Ultra using this grippy, almost bedliner-like material that doesn't play nice with this particular tool. I'll probably have to grab an oil filter wrench and change the oil with the car cold next oil change so that I can get the FRAM filter off and go back to a Wix one. Just a cautionary note!
5.0 out of 5 stars Simple, best oil filter wrench
Affordable and a good design, better than the strap wrenches
5.0 out of 5 stars Good for tight spots
Handy to have when you're laying on your back in the driveway trying to break an over-tightened oil filter loose. No complaints!
Does the job for my regular oil changes. No complaints
I would prefer if was able to tighten and loosen but it's not a big deal
Muy buena
Práctica y de calidad
Made a great job
I had to change my oil filter in my Honda. It was a easy job.
Only thing I trust to get those stuck on filters.
An essential in my toolbox as a service tech. For times when the last person to install that spin-on filter was afraid of it falling off, there’s only so much I can say, this is the best tool for the job!In terms of usage, I use it over my oil filter wrench and oil filter pliers. Just stick it on any of your 3/8 drive ratchets and boom a ratcheting oil filter wrench.Certain filters WILL get crushed by the claws so watch out for that, but as for filters such as fram filters..pshhh…no problem at all. Fits all the sizes I need it to no problem at all👍🏻Tool quality is awesome, use it atleast 10 times a day and I probably drop it every other day and it’s held up great, no bends no nothing.
A Simple Tool Worth Having
I've actually owned a Matco branded version of this tool for quite awhile, which at the time I bought it (likely not the case these days), was just a rebranded version of this GearWrench tool. Probably one of the best tool purchases I've ever made since this tool has never failed to take off any oil filter I've used it on (from narrow Honda filters, up to large diameter truck filters) and I still use the exact same one to this day (7-8 years of professional use).Ended up ordering one here on Bolo for somebody else to replace a cheap one they had that didn't work on Honda oil filters and a couple of my coworkers have ordered these as well as this version isn't expensive, is well built and works on the widest variety of spin on oil filters. Just keep in mind this tool only removes the old oil filter, you still need to spin the new one on yourself. But for anyone who changes oil frequently, you'll really appreciate having this tool around, especially when you have a really stubborn oil filter.
