Have three large Eheim filters, with various mixed media in them, but the "standard" in use are these sponge pads. I order new ones when replacements are needed.

These are incredible filter pads and I won't try knock offs or homemade filters for my Eheim filters. These almost don't wear out; just keep finding out the same one and reusing it. Very coarse and well made. Eheim is the best.
