5.0 out of 5 stars Great quality & price!
I usually buy this at Walmart & frequently, the stems are nearly bare, with the seeds loose in the bottom of the package. These Living World spays are FULL & THICK and my cockatiel loves them! Better quality & even saved money!
5.0 out of 5 stars Good for pet parrots
I used to own a conure and three cocaktiels. They loved spray millet and I came to know the look of the type they enjoyed best. It looked just like this product. Tight, almost white golden sprays, with long stems that taper down to a point. There are other types of millet that are red with big seeds, and other types that are more brown/yellow and seeds about this same size, but with a different wider look to the overall spray and not as much taper. They are all probably different varieties of millet with different scientific names that I do not know. But I know the look of what my parrots used to like best. And this is the look. My parrots loved this exact type of millet. However, the finches outside in my yard couldn't care any less about this. I hung two whole sprays at the feeders, I chopped it in smaller pieces in the feeder tray like I would do for my cockatiels, I threw some down on the ground whole and some cut in pieces, I totally picked it off the stem and made little seed balls out of it in the feeder and on the ground. No finches or sparrows seem to care about it and nobody ate it, even the pigeons-- which I would have preferred to feed other birds, but at this point if the pigeons wanted to clean up the mess on the ground, I would have let them. They didn't touch it either. Yet, all these wild birds I'm speaking of eat the loose millet seeds that are in the bags of wild bird food I buy more than they eat the sunflower seeds which are all over the ground, still whole. So i have no idea what's going on with these wacky wild birds here in the desert. But for a pet parrot, I would highly recommend this product.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fresh and Nice Size
I buy these for our many birds, including Canaries cockatiels and Conures, and they all love picking at it as a special treat. We don’t give them more than one spray each a week because they can be high in calorie and to maintain them as a special treat for the birds. These sprays are a nice size and seem to hold the seeds well without falling apart quickly so we are pleased with them.
5.0 out of 5 stars Quality
Nicely sized millet sprays. The package arrived in good condition and none of the sprays were damaged.
4.0 out of 5 stars Seems okay, yet seems extra dry (to me) too
Seems okay, yet also seems extra dry. A good number of millet sprays per bag, so it's a good, affordable way to keep millet in stock. My canary seems undeterred by the dryness but enjoys it hanging or lying on cage floor. He is still going through molt and this millet is a favorite go-to.
5.0 out of 5 stars Birds love
My bird prefers millet over food. This is a great product that she loves but is only a treat and for main diet.
3.0 out of 5 stars Not many sprays for the price you pay
I had to purchase millet from Bolo because, as with many other products, millet has been tough to find locally. Try explaining THAT to birds who constantly crave it! LolThis millet arrived quickly, thank goodness. But, I was surprised there weren't very many sprays. And, they seemed quite small compared to the millet I've gotten locally. Also, my birds, who normally devour millet, didn't seem that interested in eating this millet for some reason. However, I don't base my rating on that because that could just be their pickiness about eating things they are used to. The flavor may be just different enough from the local variety that they were hesitant to eat the new brand's millet.I wasn't sure about the freshness. I didn't check for an expiration date before transferring the millet to a Ziploc bag. Because the sprays were thin, they felt hard to the touch instead of soft like the bigger sprays. I'm not sure how that relates to freshness. If the millet wasn't fresh, that could explain my birds being hesitant to eat it. But, it's hard to tell if their hesitancy was for that reason or simply pickiness.I had previously purchased another brand of millet from Bolo, but they were out of stock when I placed this order. That seller actually grew there own millet and included a LOT of huge, fresh (soft), sprays for the value. It's hard to tell from a picture of a package the number of sprays you get for the price and the size of the sprays. While I was overall disappointed in this brand's millet, I was glad, at least, to find a company that had it in stock.
