I love This canteen!!! I had one like it decades ago in scouts. I recently purged that old rusty one, because i liked looking at it but not actually drinking from it, so i decided to replace it. When it arrived my 6&8 year olds decided they wanted them too. I didn’t want to end up carrying all 3 of them on our hikes so I decided to return it and buy hydration backpacks instead. Those worked out great for that but not everyday use and I never got around to returning this guy. It road around in the car with us until the day after the return deadline. Since i paid for it i had better use it. This guy is a bigger version than my old one. It’s giant! It makes me laugh. And It just so happens that It’s exactly the right amount of water that i should be drinking daily, which is a lot. You can take your current weight in pounds, and multiply that by 1/2 to 2/3rds . For seriously, I googled it. It’s a conversation starter, people love it. Some mistake it for a purse or a drum. It’s fun. It’s brought up some great conversations about the health benefits of drinking water and about the importance of ensuring clean water for everyone, everywhere . By using it I’m cutting way back on my single use plastic waste, which may also come up in conversation. It’s stylish and unique. The strap is exactly the right length, fits like a purse. The part you drink from is white plastic. Something to think about, make sure you carry something, like a bandana, to wipe your lipstick off of it before it stains. The only reason I would consider A lower star rating is because after using it consistently for a very short amount of time, like 2 weeks, the lid broke. In the canteens defense, it was probably user error, as I saw My child holding it by the lid loop, which broke it even more. Now I have To make sure it’s upright constantly or there’s a giant puddle. I’m going to buy another one, it’s a great price. I’ll probably try to use a special plastic glue to fix it and keep as a back up. CHEERS!!

Being an outdoorsy person I spend a lot of time in the hot Texas heat. I do a lot of hiking and nature photography. As a naturalist you have to stay hydrated. This is a much bigger canteen than most of my water bottles. I have many for various places I am at. Some tumblers for indoor use, a small-ish canteen for when I have to walk a bit. However, this one is good for prolonged voyages. I love the soft blanket exterior. I have always loved this style of canteen. I used to watch a lot of westerns with my Granddad and I would see many of these types of canteens in the films. I find these to be a nice esthetic but also a good thing to have when you are outdoors doing a lot of heavy hoofing. I would say the only gripe is the strap it is a touch too small but nothing too much to worry about. I love how big it is; I got the 4 Qt and I love how it holds twice as much water as my others. I love the color and I love the quality. Just the strap is the only thing but I can mend it and fix it. Nothing too off putting. I love getting new hiking and camping equipment. This is something to look into if you are in the market for a new canteen or if you are indeed going on a long trip to the high deserts or any place. It is just a nice thing to have. Water is essential and this holds a lot of it.

The strap length is probably the most disappointing because I wanted to carry it over the shoulder, but if you need a canteen that can be strapped to a bag or something that might work. The only other thing that disappointed me was that the design looked like it was made of cloth on the side, but it's just hard plastic.

The strap is ridiculously short - my 5'3" wife put it on and it sits in her armpit. Beyond that, it's made of cheap plastic, and feels like it might fall apart at any moment.

This canteen is a great size for working out in the heat. The one major downfall is that the hardware is cheap plastic and probably won't last the season.

One of my kids needed a water container of some sort that looked like the late 1800’s West and it was between this or a Boda bottle but we decided on this canteen. Overall it performed well, holds a lot of water, and had the right look. Well worth the money.

The Old Blanket Canteen Re-Invented
I bought this some time ago as a larger capacity water carrier for extended through hikes and motorcycle camping and it has proven to be a useful and reliable piece of kit...what a vast improvement over the old galvanized metal blanket canteen I had in Boy Scouts....this is light and durable...food grade plastic inner bottle is protected by the metal rim and wetting the blanket cools the water inside 2-5 degrees via evaporation....strap is functional and adequate for fitting it to a pack or saddlebag...good value for the price.

Mi cantimplora llegó muy a tiempo, tengo con ella un mes la uso a diario y no hé tenido ningún problema, la fotografía la muestra ya con un mes de uso , se me a caído y a aguantado bien, el único detalle es la correa no es nada resistente, si no se a roto es por que la mayoría de las veces no la llevo colgando , el agua no sabe a plástico y es fácil de limpiar , en las fotos muestro el golpe , el producto lo recomiendo 5 estrellas

Nice canteen. At 4-Quarts it easily holds a day's worth of water for most people in most environments. The plastic does not leave a smell or taste. The exterior gives it a classic look and does insulate to a certain degree. From what I remember, this one is identical to one that was briefly stocked years ago at US Walmarts. This Stansport branded version has at a good price at around $10CAD w/ Prime; similar to a Nalgene in price. Some factory somewhere in China is doing a good job. The strap isn't super long but it does the job of slinging it around a shoulder and it is a useful feature.
