5.0 out of 5 stars Staedtler compared to Sharpie Ultra Fine
These just arrived today, I was hesitant to buy them at first but am so glad I did. They have beautiful colors and a nice clean tip encased in metal so it won't break or wear down. I love the fine line that they can make its a lot thinner than I thought it would be. I decided to base my comparison upon another popular, easily accessible fine liner, the sharpie ultra fine marker. Last school year I bought the ultra fine sharpies to make nice colorful and comprehensive notes. Unfortunately sharpies have many cons, for example the nib is said to be a thinner mm, but is not. The tip is also made of plastic which allows them to easily break, fray and wear down after extend use or after a couple times even, if you write extremely hard. Their is also a very distinct strong smell to most markers, especially sharpies. I didn't know if staedtler would have a smell or not, upon arrival I discovered they don't not have a smell at all. Another big thing for people is bleed through or shadowing. Sharpies ultra fine always bleed through paper, no matter what, the only paper I don't think it would is thick cardstock ( I've never tested it) but for everyday notes and use it bleeds through normal notebook or printer paper so badly you can see what word you wrote on the back of the paper clearly. They also bleed through a FEW pages. Staedtler however doesn't bleed through at all on most paper, nor has ghosting. I purchased a five star graph paper notebook and it ghosted a bit through the back, but the paper was super thin and bad quality compared to regular note book paper. I tested them on printer paper and their is very minimal ghosting through, but with darker colors and if you press hard, like I do. there are very tiny spots of bleed through mostly where I placed the pen on the paper when I first started to write a letter. I bought these for mind mapping which is primarily on printer paper, its not bad bleed through or ghosting though, if you write in the same spot on the back it doesn't make the paper wet or wrinkly , like a sharpie would. It's barely noticeable. I tested it in an adult coloring book and there was absolutely no bleed through or ghosting what so ever. So if you are looking for adult coloring this is a perfect choice. The ink flows smoothly, doesn't skip, and doesn't make a scratchy sound on the paper. The ink flow also can help with cursive. Unlike some scratchy markers its hard to keep an even flow for cursive, but with these it glides beautifully. The triangular design makes a painless natural grip and the body itself is sleek and minimal fits nicely in a pencil pouch or compact spaces. All in all, this is a great fine liner, has many uses and vibrant, beautiful colors. Its a great buy.
5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful pens
I love having different colors of pens to suit my mood when I write cards, and I decided to try these. They write smoothly, do not bleed through or run and the colors are wonderful. I had heard that Staedtler makes the best pens and now I can say firsthand “yes, they do!”
5.0 out of 5 stars Beautifully Functional & Brilliantly Designed
I consider myself a bit of a writing utensil connoisseur, and hands down, these are the best fine-line pen/markers that I have in my collection.Typically, fine "Sharpie" brand markers have always been my preference for everything from drawing to daily writing, but these have given them a real run for their money...Pros:- They're very comfortable to write with (from a woman with petite hands)- They write very well without any skipping or bleeding- They're very vibrant in color- They're extremely thin-tipped for precise writing- They come in a fantastic case! The case itself is almost worth the money alone...it's very sturdy, and wonderfully designed to keep your pens on the ready while you're working- The caps have a distinct "click" when you put them back on to let you know that you've securely capped the pen; this might be a personal preference, but I prefer my pens, and markers to have an "audible" capCons:- If you have a heavy hand, you'll most likely damage the tips; I wouldn't recommend them for a young child or anyone who "smashes" the tips of their pens/markers/pencils/crayons- If you have a large hand, these might not be very comfortable to use because they may fatigue your handIf you're particular about finding the perfect felt-tipped pen that writes precisely, and colors vibrantly in an awesome case, these are definitely it!
5.0 out of 5 stars Changed My Life!
These are wonderful pens, they have literally changed my life.Really. For decades I've journaled in black and white; I originally purchased these for some mixed media projects, and I have just started exploring art journaling.Well, these are too fine for creating larger art works, like mandalas -- but my journaling has taken off by using these pens. It's all connected, but the short version is that when you start opening creative vistas, more and more open. My moleskins are no longer filled with abstract writer's notes, they've become a treasure trove of random ideas, sketches, and inspiration, and, therefore, my writing has taken off, as well as my art.Working with color jumpstarts the process. These are perfect for serious creatives (and not so serious creatives) who want to connect imagination, paper, and pen(s) to unlock what's really waiting to be discovered. The pens are elegant, the case is wonderful, I really have gotten nothing but joy from this modest investment. I no longer face black and white pages -- which have a creative purpose, and I certainly enjoy black and white sketches -- but I've grown into an amazing dialogue between my visual arts play, my writing, and my journaling.I can't compare them to any other fine liners. I bought the Stablio set the same time I purchased these. That set is excellent for mandalas and things requiring a tip that can be used nearly as a paintbrush (without investing in the Faber Castell), but not writing.I am quite besotted with these, if you can't tell. Don't hesitate.Goddess is good.
5.0 out of 5 stars Staedtler Triplus fine line pens
I have used these markers for years. They are high quality for underlining pages. They do not bleed through the page to the other side. I bought these as a gift for someone. Great product!
4.0 out of 5 stars Great pens
Colors are nice and works great, but taking off a star since the price dropped right after I got them...

Awesome pens
Great pens for doodling. Loving it.
Favourite pens to write notes with
Favourite pens to write notes with, makes clean lines with ruler, ink colour is true to cap colour. The triangular shape of the pens are very comfortable and these are the only pens I can write with for extended periods of time without my hands cramping. Packaging is sturdy and very easy to carry in a book bag and is very practical when propped up. Only complaint is the teal-green and light grey are too pale to write with, however they are still useful for drawing.
