I grew up in a household that always used an electric skillet. Over the years, this is probably my 4th one. This one is almost identical to my previous Presto skillet. It has a large capacity that I find good for stir fry. Presto, like many others, continues to find ways to cheapen the products a little through the years, but by today's standards, it is very good. Nice big glass lid. Easy to clean. Non-stick surface. Good value.

The 16" size of this Presto skillet actually ended up saving room in my kitchen because it replaced both an electric griddle and an old 12" electric skillet. This pan can be used for all kinds of cooking: griddling, frying, grilling, braising, roasting, even baking. The sides are high enough to use it as a chicken fryer or for stirfry. I can check how bacon is frying through the glass lid, minimizing spatter, if any. The temperature control is accurate and the pan heats up quickly, unlike my electric stovetop. In fact, you can get a perfect simmer by turning the knob down just till the light goes out. Also nothing sticks to it. The only two things you have to remember are: 1)spray it with Pam or some other cooking spray the first time you use it (just the first time), and 2)to maintain the nonstick coating, never soak it in water for extended periods (you won't need to soak it, it cleans up fast and easy). I really like this skillet and recommend it highly. I bought it in February and have used it regularly ever since.NOTE: It is now May 2008 and I still use this electric skillet at least once or twice a week. It has held up beautifully and still looks new. I have to tighten the leg screws now and then but I'm not complaining. I would give this pan six stars if I could.NOTE: It is now October 2008 and we still use this skillet a couple of times per week at least. It takes about 3 minutes to clean after it cools. I can cook just about anything in it. I like its temperature accuracy and the quick control I have over the heat. I use it all the time.NOTE: It's now February 2009, and two years since I bought this skillet. I still use it at least once a week and it is holding up just fine. Other than tightening the leg/handle screws now and then, it works as well as the day I received it.NOTE: It's now January 2010 and the skillet is still going strong. No problems with it at all. We use it every weekend for egg & pancake breakfasts with all the trimmings.

We had one for ten years and was worried about getting a new one. This one is perfect, easy to clean and great size to make enough food for a family of 4! Nothing sticks and handles are sturdy.

This is perfect for bacon, grilled cheese sandwiches, etc. Love the glass top, it has heated up well for us, and when I'm done (especially with bacon) I wipe out the grease with paper towels, and then turn it on again while heating water in it. Gently lift any crumbs with a silicone spatula and pour out. Wipe again and ready for the next usage.

This is my second presto electric skillet. I like the way the skillet heats evenly. For me it cooks the best at 300. I found that it is best not to used canned spray as it causes a film to form on the skillet.Took me forever to get it off without damaging the non-stick coating. I bought a spray bottle and use that for oil. I use this skill daily and it is large enough to cook several items at a time. I would recommend it for purchase.

16-Inch Electric Skillet
A1, this is a nice looking and well made skillet. Hope it last a long time. (Update)- This is by far, the best Electric Skillet, for long lasting that I have ever had, and I have used up at least 40 skillets in my life. I have tryed every name brand of skillet that you can think off, but nothing eles stands up like the Presto 06852 16-Inch Electric Skillet dose. I have even had other Presto electric skillets, different from this one that did not last any longer then the rest. I just wanted folks to know, this will last a very long time, compared to anything else on the market. I was a sea going Chef for 15 years, on a Fishing Boat with 15 men, that ate food 4 times a day for 21 days on shift work. We went through a lot of electric frying pans. So I'm not on a tall tail.

Used it within a few days of receiving to make meat balls. All came out fine. Quite larger than our last brand and model which lasted 20 years.
