Coleman's Two-Mantle Propane Lantern is as steady as they come. This lantern is pressure-regulated to control fuel flow, so you get consistent light in any temperature. This Coleman propane lantern lights with a match and has a control knob that works like a dimmer switch to let you adjust the brightness and burn time. The porcelain ventilators will prevent rusting and help this lantern last you a long time.
This lantern operates on a 16.4-ounce cylinder of Coleman propane (not included), and will burn for up to seven hours on high or 14 hours on low. With a unique, stable base and foldable feet it just doesn't get much more convenient than this.

This thing throws a ton of heat also. Light is super bright. I would say the downfall is the glass but it couldn't be anything else. Great for a camp or as I use it emergency lighting.

I originally gave this three stars factoring in price to quality.This is definitely a case of you get what you pay for.The Spring mantles (Insta-Clip Mantles) seemed easy enough, just make sure that you overlap them the correct way, giving you the tightest fit. You will not find the proper image on Bolo, do a search Google "Coleman Insta-Clip Mantle, 2-Pack"Since I have been active in Boy Scouts recently I planned on replacing my white gas products like my Coleman Two-Mantle Dual Fuel Powerhouse Lantern and Coleman 2-Burner Dual Fuel Powerhouse Liquid Fuel Stove with propane. I thought it would be better using the propane instead of worrying about white gas.My reasoning for this is it would be safer to carry propane tanks in place of white gas and make life easier.Anyhow I was wrong, my Dual Fuel Powerhouse lantern (more than double the price) is a much better built lantern and I carry a New - Primus Fuel Bottle 1.5L - P-732531. This is plenty of fuel and will last 5 days under light use. Refilling is easy enough and you should use one of those Coleman Filtering Funnel. I sometimes just pour it into the lantern from the fuel bottle.The control knob feels very cheap on the propane lantern and there are sort of preset clicks for different levels of intensity, this is a nice feature, the globe seems pretty hefty.It's fairly well built but I would worry about the footing that slide out possibly breaking off.The propane tank sits tight inside the base.I will most likely donate this to the Boy Scouts with my Coleman 2-Burner Dual Fuel Powerhouse Liquid Fuel StoveIf you plan on replacing a liquid gas lantern with propane, Don't , unless you plan to use this for Scouts.You may be disappointed, however, I would highly recommend this item for a Stansport Distribution Post - 2 Piece - 30 in. - 3 Outlet or a Century Two-Piece 18-30" Type 1 Safety Post with Bag but as a primary lantern that will get hung in a tree, placed on the ground, placed on a picnic table etc...,I suggest spending the extra cash and getting a Dual Fuel Lantern.I hope this was helpful.*UPDATE 2013/10/22Used this on a recent C.O.P.E trip with the Boy Scouts and worked well, the base worked fine. I really hate to mothball my gasser, but for Scouts this is much more practical. I will be ordering a Propane tree and will update again.I updated my rating from 3 stars to 4, for the simple fact that it does what it is intended to do and it's a fair price for what you are getting.I keep the Gasser when camping in the trailer.*UPDATE 2015/02/22I mentioned earlier in this review about the presets being a nice feature, However, after my most recent trip I am not happy with the presets.Using this in a tent (please no comments on using in a tent) on our winter camping trip I realized the presets suck, the lowest setting was too low so the next click up was too bright, we tried running on the lowest setting but it let out a horrible whistling sound.This is still a decent lantern but proved to be a bad choice in our 8 man tent. I have since opted to order the Primus Micron Lantern, I will review this later.I left the rating for 4 starts because these cons will not apply to most folks.

This little lantern is perfect for camping. Can also be used during a power outage. It's sturdy and easy to use. It's small size makes it perfect for camping and easy to store. Love it.

What you would expect from Coleman. Great quality you can feel safe using. I found this at the lowest price here on Bolo and glad I spent the money. This lit up my whole back yard. Came with great packaging and really nice metal-tie mantles. According to Coleman, it can last for 8 hours on HIGH with a new bottle of propane. This claim will be tested this weekend on our camping trip. We went with just flashlights last time and were seriously regretting not getting a lantern. The benefits of this lantern are already making themselves known. Great reliable light, heat as a by-product (good for those cold trips) and simple design.**Be careful with these type of lanterns if you have not used them before, they get insanely hot (they are burning fuel to make light)**

Gostei do lampião, eu tive que comprar o gáz colleman separado em uma loja de pesca, fora da minha cidade, e na internet comprei mais outro. a parte ruim é que não vem com a proteção para o vidro, de resto ilumina muito bem quando acontece um apagão.

コールマンのガス缶470gとキャンピングムーンのアダプタで使用しています明るさに関しては4-5人のキャンプで使用していますが、ツーマントルなこともあり十分ですただ、個体差なのかはわかりませんが、燃料残量が少なくなると共振して高音が鳴ってしまい、隣のサイトからも聞こえる音量のため早めの燃料交換or使用できない、といったことがありましたアダプタに関しては締め口がボディの内側にあることもあり作業しにくいので、噴出防止の弁がついているものを購入し、ペンチなどでガス缶のみを脱着した方が良いかもしれません
