This is a perfect beach tent - a must have if you have little ones that need a break from sun or wind. Spacious enough that two adults and two kids can fit comfortably inside fully in the shade, and circulates air rather well (though could benefit from a side vent unless you're able to face it so the sun doesn't come in through the back vent, negating its purpose). Setup is a breeze too - was worried cause some people said they had trouble, but literally took about 2 minutes to set up. Packs easily back into carrying case as well.We used this on a beach trip to view the eclipse with my parents and without this I can say our beach days would have been miserable. We had an umbrella too, but that just isn't enough, especially when you have a 4mo and a 2yo. My step-father is very fair skinned and he was grateful to be able to enjoy the beach for once without feeling accosted by the sun.One thing I will say is BE AWARE of your beach's regulations on tents. We used this at Myrtle Beach for one day only since they have some stupid aesthetic rule that you cannot have tents above 3 feet tall. I was luckily able to convince the lifeguard that us setting up behind the "umbrella line" would not be a safety issue for his line of sight to the water, and me not having it up would only be a safety issue for my infant. We found a lovely state park (Huntington Beach) for the rest of our trip without such ridiculous rules. Basically never go to Myrtle with kids.AND, if you need a shade tent, buy this one!

I bought this for my wife because she is fair skinned and doesn't like to be out in the sun very long when at the beach. I searched through several of the other types of umbrellas and beach canopies, but couldn't decide on one that looked like it would give her much shade. I kept coming back to this one, but was still skeptical based on reviews that it was difficult to setup and was afraid she'd have some difficulty if she tried to do this alone on the beach.It was ordered on Saturday and received on Tuesday (/shameless plug to Bolo Prime and the awesome shipping), so that insured us plenty of time to set it up before we leave for the beach on Saturday. I wasn't home when it arrived, but my wife was so excited, she had already unpacked it and had it setup in our living room. She said it took her roughly 10 minutes to setup and seemed to be simple enough to handle even if there was wind on the beach. I think she was most excited because it is definitely way bigger in person than it is shown on the website. There is plenty of room to sit back into the tent area and be completely covered, or you can sit just under the shade and allow the sun to tan your legs. There is also plenty of room for your chairs, beach bag, and anything else you need to store out of the sun or in a safe place.Once she had her fun with it, she wanted to time how long it would take her to break it down and pack up. There were only a few snags, but still a breeze and not as difficult as other reviews have claimed.- The biggest issue is the mesh that your poles go through and when inserting or removing, they tend to get caught in the holes. I think a better design in that area (making the pole holes solid fabric) would assist in getting the poles in and out quicker and without them coming apart at the hinges. Still, she got the poles out and back in the bag in around 10 minutes with some of my help.-The only other MAJOR pain was the bag that the tent and accessories comes. Good luck getting the tent folded back down small enough to perfectly fit into that bag. It's almost like folding a fitted sheet and we know only witches can do that. She eventually got it tucked into the bag, but if you're hot on the beach and flustered from fighting with the poles and mesh, you're going to just shove it to make it fit which can lead to tears if you zip over it.Her recommendation and probably her own solution, was to just invest in a cheap beach bag big enough to hold the poles and the tent, so that way you can get it rolled down as far as you can and tie each end with the included plastic ties. It's not that bulky and the poles/stakes/sand bags all come in their own bags so it's easy clean up.I will do an updated review in a week or so once she has had time to enjoy it on the beach. So far, she thinks this is going to be a great investment and will be used many more times in the future!

We looked around and read lots of reviews. We found a good deal at Bolo on the Coleman Beach Shade. So that became one of our Christmas gifts to ourselves. I've been waiting on winter to end and a few days of sun to set it up in the yard and make sure it's all there and that I know how to do it. (I'm a big advocate of putting up a new tent/canopy at home prior to using it on a trip.)It went up pretty easy. I would say it took me about 10 mins to put it up by myself. It's fairly simple with only 3 poles: 2 black ones that go front to back in a parallel manner, and 1 longer grey one that crosses perpendicular to the black poles. The grey pole took a bit more care to thread through the mesh netting. It didn't slide through like most tents do. When I took it down I had to concentrate on unthreading the grey cross pole carefully too. It's really not that bad though and the first time you do it you will see where the trouble spots that it's likely to get caught are at. I expect to put it up faster in the future now that I know where those are. Due to that, it might be easier to have 2 people to get the grey pole in place and the ends locked into their grommets.The design seems fairly good. The ends of the poles are tapered a bit to easily fit in the grommets. The grommets seem secure in the webbing at the base. It provides a decent amount of shade considering how small it packs down. Also, you can zip it up totally to make a changing room if you need one (though it might get hot without leaving the doors/windows cracked some for ventilation).I think it will serve us well. I will follow up with further review after our next beach trip. We might even find other uses for it at other outdoor events.EDIT 10/2016:We've used this for quite a while now from the beach to swim meets and hanging at the park. It's still in my opinion a great little investment with little kids/dogs. It's holding up well and yes, I'm still taking care with that cross pole (the only downside). :)

Es una carpa para sombra en la playa de excelente calidad, es muy fácil de armar e instalar en muy poco tiempo.Lo que más me ha gustado, es que a diferencia de otras esta es muy espaciosa y tiene buena altura, habiendo lugar hasta para tres personas sentadas y también es muy útil como vestidor cerrándose la entrada y ventana completamente.En cuanto a su resistencia al viento fuerte, logra superar la prueba, con sus bolsas de arena que se pueden sujetar fácilmente en cada uno de los extremos, y a diferencia de otros modelos, esta tiene dos cuerdas tensoras de cada lado de la carpa, que se sujetan también con bolsas de arena.Para que logre ser muy resistente al viento, las bolsas de arena deben estar enterradas completamente, las dos cuerdas sujetadas con mucha tensión, y las estacas enterradas a un ángulo de 60 grados y también cubiertas completamente con la arena.No ocupa mucha espacio, viene en una bolsa que mide 60 cms de largo por lo que es fácil de transportar.Cumple muy bien con su función de carpa para sombra en la playa, siendo que NO es una casa de campaña para el bosque u otro lugar.
