The Master Lock 140Q Solid Brass Keyed Alike Padlocks feature a 1-9/16in (40mm) wide solid brass lock body that is strong, durable and resists corrosion. The 1/4in (6mm) diameter shackle is 7/8in (22mm) long and made of hardened steel, offering extra resistance to cutting and sawing. The 4-pin cylinder prevents picking and the dual locking levers provide resistance against prying and hammering.

I have had experience with this model of Master locks before, having purchased a package of three keyed-alike locks from a home improvement store for use on three hose bib locking devices that required padlocks to function. But just now I needed more locks, because neighborhood disturbances (water theft, vandalism by running water full blast unknown by the homeowner until later) caused me to decide to secure all hose bibs.Anyone who has had water softening installed knows that the original bibs pipe soft water after the work is done, and the installers add a new hose bib branching from the incoming water line next to each old and now soft-water hose bib. My three, therefore, turned into six. The original three I had used on the soft-water bibs were, as it turned out, fairly cheesy and not nearly so secure as I wanted, so I bought six new ones plus a pack of four (no packs of three were offered) of these locks to allow me to lock all six devices onto the bibs. (As it turned out, this pack of four locks from Bolo was cheaper than a pack of three at the nearby home improvement store, so I was not the loser.)These locks are quite good, not the most robust locks available but entirely suitable for the task. Any lock used outdoors should be carefully lubricated periodically with an appropriate product and should be kept out of direct weather insofar as possible, but with care and occasional maintenance, should last a long time.

This is a quality feeling, solid brass little lock. I am into locksport so I bought it for one of my first locks to pick. It's not the most secure lock, it's fairly easy to pick most of them. However, for the price it is still good enough for the average Joe.

It's a well made lock with good tolerances. There are one or two spool pins to make picking a bit harder.

The Master Lock 140D Padlock is small in size but I purchased to put a lock on my electric box. The size was prefect but the trying to get the key into the lock was tricky. The first key didn't go in at all, until I used the second key. The padlock is also a little thin and would be easy cut with the most basic cutter. Despite that the lock is fits the spot to lock my electric box and the tan color matches the color of the box to make it a bit hidden. Overall 8 out of 10

Things have been picking up legs and walking off on my property lately. So, I have been doing anything proactive I can to protect what I have left. I actually purchased one of these locks to lock my riding lawnmower to a post. I may not stop a theft, but I'm going to try my best. Also one on my pool gate, and one on each on two shops or sheds that I have in addition to the regular door looks. It's nice that several came together in one set. They are not huge heavy locks, but they are fairly nice sized and they worked out perfectly and did exactly what I needed. I really like that the set all have the same key so it's easy to keep up with them, that was nice. The set comes with two keys, and the keys fit all the locks. So I'm not fumbling for a key on each lock and my husband and I both have our own key. The locks move smoothly and engage well. I've had no issues or problems with any of the four locks. Hopefully they will at least deter would be thieves. Great locks reasonably priced. I would recommend.

A key product
Excellent locking and unlocking device, just put the key in and turn. Probably won't survive a nuclear attack, but otherwise pretty solid.
Good Solid Locks!
Each set of four locks comes with two keys. FOUR LOCKS/TWO KEYS.Each lock opens with the same key, either or both of the two that are included.It would be better if each lock came with it's own key, meaning there should be FOUR keys in each set of FOUR locks.That is the reason for the four star rating.I have a LOT of wooden boxes with latches, for which I bought these locks.I use the wooden boxes for the storage of valuable things, sharpening supplies, coins etc., and the boxes are kept in different locations, at different properties.That means because there are four locks and only two keys, I am forced to keep some of the wooden boxes in the same location, so the two keys that the four locks share, are also in the same location.This makes things complicated, as I have had to mark the locks, 1,2,3,4...and the keys accordingly.I have decided to discard the locks for which there are no keys of their own, as I can't really use them.Why would there NOT be FOUR LOCKS/FOUR KEYS?Other than that, they are perfectly fine locks.
