5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome stuff
I used 3M 08115 for the first time on my 1954 Chevy Pickup that needed some small patches on its holey roof and firewall. I chose this product after many hours of research and debating vs welding, braising, fiberglass, and other products. the le reason why I chose this is because welding large surfaces such as a roof can warp the roof if not done properly and even then there is no guarantee. Another reason is that welding melts both metals down and can potentially inbed impurities and rust into the weld only to pop up later. With this epoxy you eliminate the potentially for any of this to occur. This is probably some of the reasons why most car manufacturers are using this product to secure their panels on their cars in lieu of welding. Also, because it seam seals all in one step. From all the forums posts and reviews that I read I was unable to find anyone that had actually used this product that wasn't completely satisfied with it's performance. I borrowed a really nice gun (it requires a double tube epoxy gun btw) from a friend and went to town. It applies like hot peanut butter, gives you plenty of working time, smooths out flat, and it cures hard as steel. I love it. I have since used it on other projects and it has performed great. Some tips: It says on the product material that you can reuse it by leaving the tip on there, let it dry and leaving it on till you need it again at which time you just unscrew it and put a new one on. I read this after I have cleaned the outlet very well and put the top back on. This can be a little tedious. Using the used tip seems a lot easier to do. Another tip is that I was working with small 2"x 2" patches for my non structural hole repair. I found that using small yet strong magnets to keep the patches in place as they dried worked awesomely. For the intended application, it is the best there is. Try it and you'll agree.Update....... I have used this product a lot since this posting and continue to be in awe of its strength and ease of use. I can see most welding falling into antiquity when everyone finally brakes from what they are used to and tries this stuff. BTW for shorter claiming times, apply heat from a heat gun. It sets up in about three minutes. Another benefit to this product is that you can bond unlike metals such as steel and aluminum and since there is a layer of epoxy in between them you don't have to worry about them reacting with each other causing galvanic corrosion. sorry for the long-winded review but I hope you find this helpful.
5.0 out of 5 stars works great
It holds panels on well.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very good adhesion and easy to use
I used this to bond some lower quarter patch panels on one of my cars. This was a late model car with extremely thin sheet metal and because of heat and metal distortation welding would have caused more work than necessary. I also used the same panel Bond to bond some custom wheel well tubs on a pickup truck bed. Both applications worked out extremely well. The pickup truck bed is now over a year in use with no failure. The panel bond material works very well. I prefer the slower set version of the panel bond. That said Both work extremely well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes For Easy Panel Replacement
Made for a strong and easy replacement of a rusty lower quarter panel. Also used it to epoxy on some metal patches over a few holes behind the rear bumper on our Vanagon, next to the exhaust but still holding tight. Lined up the new panels and secured them with neodymium magnets and clamps until the glue set. Once set, the epoxy was strong enough to permanently glue a few of the magnets together and pull the chrome off another rather than break the adhesive bond. Sands nicely, too. Spendy but worth it.
