When I purchased this item, it was during the beginning of my "DIY natural products". I purchased that item to make a body cream. When I opened it, I very much disliked the smell. I thought it was because it was unrefined and had a strong coconut smell. Ended up putting it away and not using it and purchased refined coconut oil. A few months later, I was running out of my DIY face cream and my husband suggested I just use the coconut oil as my face cream (the one I put away) until I could get to the store. So I decided to do this (only because I have another friend who only uses unrefined CO as her face cream and swears by it). I ended loving how it felt and absorbed in the skin, so I put up with the smell. haha I ended up getting use to the smell but not loving it. When I began to run out, I searched all over trying to find it again and couldn't, not even online. I ended up reading the container and it stated it was a "Whole Foods Exclusive", so unless I wanted to drive an hour to a Whole Foods store again, I would have to use something else. I ended up ordering this item- "Unrefined Coconut Oil perfect for skin and hair care" because it was the same brand and everything without the lavender and vanilla. I thought for sure I would hate the smell not having any essential oil to hinder the natural smell but I figured I would just add my essential oils to it. Well I was pleasantly surprised when the item arrived. As soon as I opened it, I LOVED the rich, natural essence of the coconut. It had such a natural tropical smell. So all along, it wasn't that I disliked the natural/unrefined smell, I dislike the added lavender and vanilla to the unrefined. I never thought of that because lavender is my favorite oil and vanilla one of my favorite candle scents. I've been using it ever since as a daily whole body lotion. I haven't added any essential oils too it.If you've never used coconut oil as a lotion before, it does take some getting use too but the after result is amazing. First off, a little goes a long way. So it last a long time. When you first put it on, it does feel oily and appear shiny on the skin but give it a few minutes and it soaks right into the skin. However, if you put too much, it can still remain feeling oily on your skin when you rub it. I just apply a really small amount and if more is needed on dry areas then I add a little bit more after it has time to soak in.I will definitely purchase this item again! Top quality, rich scent, smooth and creamy oil, fresh product coloring. Maybe next time, I'll add the essential oils! :)
5.0 out of 5 stars Good for the price
Works great as a leave in conditioner and so good for your skin!
5.0 out of 5 stars Use sparingly
I love this product! I have been using it for hair and skin care. It is extremely moisturizing and has a pleasant nutty fragrance. I suggest using it sparingly because a little goes a long way. Coconut oil is a saturated fat. It solidifies like butter or lard, but as in butter or lard, can liquefy at certain temperatures.

5.0 out of 5 stars Coconut oil is everything baby!
Still my favorite coconut oil to use all over my body. It’s not greasy it absorbs quick and leaves you looking amazing and soft!
5.0 out of 5 stars Love 💙
Easy to use on skin and hair. Mine is very dry and the coconut oil is easy to apply. Because it’s pure it will completely melt in warm temps and harden in cool temps. Highly recommend. Just pure coconut oil!
5.0 out of 5 stars great moisturizer
I use this as a body moisturizer. No heavy scent, easy to apply, not greasy, and leaves my skin feeling soft all day. I also use it as a makeup remover and deep conditioner for hair. I've tried other brands, but Spectrum is best....some other brands were grainy, but this is easy to manipulate and goes on smooth.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works great for skin, and dry, damaged hair
I decided to give this product a try, and I'm glad I did. My hair was very dry and damaged from heat styling and highlights. This stuff really works, and a little goes a long way. I use this in place of body lotion too, and it soaks in very quickly. I have very sensitive skin and it doesn't cause a reaction, but do a patch test before using. After the first use I noticed a difference in my hair. It really helped repair my hair with no chemicals, but with real moisture, vitamins and fatty acids that hair and skin need. Coconut oil is the only oil that penetrates completely into the hair shaft.I don't heat it because it melts at body temperature. As a weekly mask, I put it on dry hair and work from my ends up to roots. You'll want to use and old tee shirt. I usually just put it up in a hair clip, but some people like using a shower cap. Use enough so that the hair is covered and looks oily, but not completely saturated. Comb through and leave in for an hour. Then wash hair as usual.I use it as a leave in conditioner too. After washing and towel drying hair, rub a very small amount in hands and run through damp hair from ends to mid shaft. Don't use it near your roots. Then dry and style hair as usual. It also works well to smooth hair after styling.
