5.0 out of 5 stars Works great!
I purchased this to go in my 2005 Silverado Crew cab with the 5.3 motor. I have the LTZ console so there was definitely some extra work involved removing the dash. Just as a side note, you do not have to drop the entire steering column just the brace and bracket to the right. Also the radio does not have to be removed and I think you can get away without removing the A/C control face although it is very easy to do so. This particular heater core has the swiveling tubes that go through the firewall making it much easier to install as to where you have to cut the tubes off of the original to get it out. If not, you will probably have to drop the steering column and at that point you might as well take the entire dash unit as a whole, out of the truck and bring the entire heating and cooling casing out as well. The new core has only been in for two days now but is working as advertised and boy is my ride to work a lot more comfortable! this unit fit snug and is the same capacity as the original. As for the QD fittings, you see a lot of people who have done this repair talk about, are the Dorman #800-409 and yes they will fit this core on both sides. Mine snapped right on and do not leak. The heater hoses are two different inter diameters but a simple worm clamp will secure them just fine as this is a low pressure system. If something should fail anytime soon (I will push truck off a cliff) I will update this post but so far so good!
5.0 out of 5 stars 2005 Chevy Silverado Duramax
Worked as a replacement in my truck. Direct swap. Easy enough. Takes about 50 minutes to remove the dash and about 15 minutes to remove the heater core to make the switch.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good product but installation is not for the novice mechanic !
No leaks so far ! Good fitment ! The most important tool youll need is patients ! Good luck p.s after u have pulled old core out Do not bolt the new one down into place yet leave the inlet and outlet up out of the housing it sits in until you push the inlet and outlet through the firewall then finish dropping the heater core into place ! ( The inlet and outlet from the heater core must be through the firewall before you can line the rest of the dash up) That was pretty much the only thing that wasn’t covered on YouTube
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect fit
Perfect fit for my 2002 Silverado 1500 no leaks and the heater works great good quality part especially for the price just a warning it is not a job for beginners
5.0 out of 5 stars Heater core is great value. Seems to be of good quality
Just put it in 2000 GMC 1500 last week. The heater core looks good and seems to be as good or better than the one i took out. Greatly appreciate being able to rotate the inlet/outlet pipes. I Haven't had any leaks since installation. If anything changes, i'll update this, as this is not a quick/easy/fun repair and i wouldn't want to do it twice.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great
Easy to natal perfect fit tubes swivel to allow for easy install
1.0 out of 5 stars What they sent did not fit plus concerns it would leak.
I ordered this for a 2008 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD Pickup. It took a while to get it in and fixed. I found that the part was not correct for this truck. It has passed the 30 days, so I will have to "eat" this. The good news is that I did find the part at NAPA. It fit and was of much better quality than the wrong one sent. I suspect that if it had fit, it would have failed quickly. Still while close to being the right one, it still was the wrong part sent.
