5.0 out of 5 stars Coveted ball
I purchased this ball for my 80 lb yellow lab after she repeatedly stole it from a rottweiler at the dog park. The rottweiler had the XL size, but it looked like it was about to break my dog's jaw, so I ordered the regular (note: the packaging states that the ball is intended for dogs up to 60 lbs). The regular size is almost the same size as a tennis ball, slightly smaller, and is a perfect fit.I am really impressed with this ball for several reasons:- bounces very high, even on grass and dirt (suprising in something so heavy)- solid, so my dog can't pop it or tear pieces off it (like she does with tennis balls)- my dog is obsessed with it, she wags her tail if she sees it- slick rubber outside makes it much easier to wrestle out of my dog's mouth (it pops right out, not the case with a tennis ball that she can chomp her teeth into)- actually floats! I was very skeptical, but we tested it out and while it does sit low in the water (almost submerged) it floats. It's also amusing to watch my dog try to grab it in the water - it bounces off her snout and she looks around, bewildered, until it bobs back up to the surface- not proven yet, but I'm hoping that this toy will be durable due to the solid construction. After a week of rough play and games of Throw (my dog hasn't gotten the Fetch part down yet) I can see slight indentations in the rubber from her teeth, but no holes or pieces missing, and it still floats just fine.I'll edit my review on longevity as we continue, but so far I'm very happy with the purchase and would definitely recommend it to dog owners looking for durable toys for destructive dogs.
5.0 out of 5 stars Like the Everlasting Gobstopper
Finally, a ball that my dog can chew on for hours! The XL is only slightly larger than a tennis ball which is perfect for my dog's mouth. Unlike the hard plastic toys that form sharp, pokey edges after heavy chewing, Ruff Dawg's soft, rubbery material does not injure my dog's gums. Reminds me of the self-healing mats that remain looking great despite usage over time. I used to buy tennis balls by the dozens but not since the Ruff Dawg ball. We've had the same one for over a year now and it's still in very good form! I'm convinced it's indestructible, and that is backed by Ruff Dawg's lifetime warranty. The XL even fits the ball thrower, though a little snug. Caution with throwing it to your dog from a distance. It may have a soft surface but it's quite dense and may hurt your dog's mouth/teeth from the impact of catching all that weight. Very good value!
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for dogs that are heavy chewers!
I’ve had dozens of dog toy balls over the years but nothing beats this one! I’ve consistently gone back to this ball! My dog is an American pit bull and will pick up a rock to chew on when we go out unless she had a ball to hold. This ball is bouncy, durable, fun colors! She has dropped it in a fire pit and it survived. She take it everywhere! Only thing I worry about is with bigger dogs they could potentially choke. They do make larger balls as well which I also have and he loves as well. So when we share with the big dogs we use the xl ball to avoid choking and always supervise play time. But this has been my go to brand and dog ball for 5 years now!
5.0 out of 5 stars Most durable toy I’ve ever found
We have two golden retriever puppies that can get through any toy in minutes, and tennis balls are no exception. I’ve tried a dozen options in hopes of finding something that can withstand the chompers of our two girls with no luck. This ball is the best!In the past, after playing fetch I’d have to take their ball and put it away so they couldn’t destroy it, but I’ve had this toy just hanging around the house for 2-3 weeks now and there’s not even a scratch on the thing. This is great because now if one of them wants to play fetch, they can tell me if they’re in the mood just by bringing me the ball.It is a little heavy, so throwing it in the house makes things a little loud, but get this thing out on pavement and it bounces like a child’s bouncy ball, which drives the dogs berserk for it.Already shown it to three friends whom all want one of their own now.UPDATE:This ball still looks brand new, and is still one of the most favored toys. I’m yet to find another toy/ball that can be left alone and not be destroyed. 10/10 would recommend.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for aggressive chewers
I came across these balls about a year ago at Ace Hardware. I was desperate to find something that would hold up to my Pitbull mix. We couldn’t find anything that didn’t get torn up in 10 minutes… until I found this. Since then, I’ve ordered about 5 of these only because we lose them, but these have held up so great. They’re so bouncy, yet so solid. He has tried to chew them up with no luck. These balls are the best!!
4.0 out of 5 stars A bit too large for chihuahua
Our ten pound chihuahua loves playing fetch . This ball is just a little large and she seems to get tired of keeping it in her mouth quicker than usual. Otherwise, it’s great - very bright and bouncy.
5.0 out of 5 stars Super durable!
I absolutely love these balls for fetch with my girl who is hard on toys. These can be left in her crate and not get destroyed. This is the only ball I have found that can withstand my heaviest chewers who destroy literally everything, even an RTK crate.
5.0 out of 5 stars Best
My dogs love them, we play with them every day- they haven't wrecked one yet, lifetime guarantee! Super bouncy like superball
La devolví
El material se ve de muy buena calidad, pero la tuve que devolver por qué me llegó con una deformidad.
Best ball
My dog is obsessed with this ball. It is the only toy in 5 years we have found that she can’t destroy. It also bounces a crazy amount and floats in water. It’s amazing- totally worth the money.
Awesome.
Awesome. Dogs absolutely love the ball. They destroy every ball but this one.
Good buy
My Newfie destroys indescribable toys but this has held up and she loves playing with it.
Not indestructible
So this ball has lasted the longest so far but not by much!I bought 2 at the beginning of December, gave them to my Husky and was super hopeful.I had to take one away from her today, it’s definitely torn up and small pieces are starting to come off of it.For reference, my Husky is about 46 lbs and on the petite side. She’s had both balls out and alternates between the two, usually playing with them for 20 mins once or twice a day (sometimes she doesn’t play with them at all). They aren’t left out all the time, in the two weeks they have been under furniture or put away more times than they have been actively played with. They are strong and durable balls but I guess not Husky proof.I have not tried the warranty yet so I can’t comment on that. If we get a replacement and it lasts longer than maybe this one was just a lemon.
