About this item:
Combat Max Ant Killing Gel helps you get rid of ants in just three to five days. It’s formulated to attract ants quickly, while its fast-acting insecticide, Fipronil, one of the most powerful ant killers, starts to exterminate ants in hours. Worker ants return to the colony and feed the bait to the larvae and to the queen, eliminating the entire ant colony. This gel is easy to use so you can apply it in cracks, crevices and other hard-to-reach places. Combat Max Ant Killing Gel is effective against Carpenter, Pharaoh, Argentine, Cornfield, Odorous House, Thief, Pavement, White Footed, and Little Black Ants.

5.0 out of 5 stars best ant killer you can buy

5.0 out of 5 stars Thank God
This stuff actually works. I have been battling an ant problem for months. This is the only stuff that has completing eliminated the ants. I put it out one evening and woke up to ALL the ants gone! It's a freaking miracle worker and the cheapest of all the things I've purchased in my journey to rid my place of ants. Liquid gold!
5.0 out of 5 stars ants eliminated in less than 24hrs
ants starts to consume the bait about 1-2 hrs after placing the bait, they got absolutely crazy about it, different sized ants came and eat it. Then next morning i see very few left but they are still eating. Then in the afternoon I can hardly see anymore ants. This gel works very very well.
4.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use, but like everything else I found not 100% effective
Easy to use, but like everything else I found not 100% effectiveThe ants in my area are way too effective. Fortunately they're not the dangerous fire ants just common brown and black ants. But they're extremely persistent and even if you can cut down the number that you physically see they're always around so you just can't allow anything that they're attracted to to stay out. But they did seem to cut down the frequency of seeing visible ants. I think there are way too many sources of food here in California with fruiting trees etc and too many nests to kill them all off to the point where ants will never come and find your crumbs or dirty plates. The only true solution is to keep everything very very clean and put all your food away where ants can't get into it. Ziplocs and plastic canisters are your friend! And what do you know, Bolo sells some of both at pretty good prices. They don't need to look pretty just get the inexpensive ones that have a really tight seal!
5.0 out of 5 stars They will swarm it like savage beasts !!!
I usually do not leave reviews, but this product so far is very impressive. We had household black ants no matter what we did and they were even biting me periodically throughout the day. The ants were making our lives miserable. We went through several trash bags a day because we had to throw the trash out immediately after throwing something in it and one little crumb on the ground for my four-year-old would result in a massive trail frenzy. No matter what we did they were relentless!!! I would spray them with household cleaners, but that didn’t seem to do anything as they would be back within minutes. Are used bleach which in the past would work because it seems that they wouldn’t want to come back to the same spot, but these ants eventually powered right through the bleach and marched on. They were in my kitchen, bathroom and living room not to mention several massive trails outside leading to underneath the property. The ants were coming out of our electrical socket plates were they weren’t sealed properly and any hole and crack in the house possible. After caulking for two months we decided to try this method using the gel. I put a drop near their trail and they swarm to it like wolves and minutes later masses are eating it. So far they have cleaned up every drop I have put out, but sometimes the second application they leave a little behind which needs to be cleaned up. Outside in the back they were swarming the trashcan there must’ve been hundreds of thousands and I put several large drops in the trashcan then they disappeared within one day they were gone. They aren’t completely eradicated, but greatly reduced and it appears you need to do an application wherever you see a trail over the course of a week to get rid of them. After five days the only ants that I really see or stragglers that we’re probably inside before I sealed up their entrances after applying the bait and letting them swarm it for a couple hours until that’s all gobbled up. After five days the only aunts that I really see are stragglers that were probably inside before I sealed up their entrances after applying the bait and letting them swarm it for a couple hours until that’s all gobbled up. I feel like we are almost back to normal and I give this product a five star because it appears to have nearly eradicated our house ants. I read several reviews and I know this did not work for ghost ants and others said that the ants were not attracted to it and they just walked right by it. The ants outside at first did not go to the beach either so I mixed a little bit of honey with the poison gel and put it right in their path and they went after it like savage beasts.I will edit this review if they come back in full force, but for now they appear to be 98% eradicated from inside my house at the moment.Update:The ants still manage to come in even after using the product, but I placed a few drops and they swarm it like savage animals and they disappear from that location for a while. I still haven’t had any in the kitchen were it was the biggest problem and they are no longer in the living room, but they are continuing to show up in my two bathrooms. I have applied a couple more applications and will update this review once I have some sort of results. The point of this product is to get the poison to the nest to where it supposed to kill the queen. So far I’m going to assume the queen is not dead because they keep coming from somewhere.
1.0 out of 5 stars Not as Exactly as Advertise, Mystery Solved
To begin with this review, let me say that i have ordered the"Combat Ant Killing Gel" in the past as pictured and i must tell you it was a very effective product. It was so good that you only needed a small dab and ants were gone for months. Why do i say "was"? There seem to be some confusion with this product today. After doing some extensive research i finally solved the mystery as to why we have a huge majority of good reviews and bad reviews. Here is what i have discovered, like i mentioned before i have used this product before and had a overwhelming success. In the past week i had placed a new order for the" Combat Ant Killing Gel" the package came in a timely manner. At first i did not see a problem until i started to use this product. I noticed from the start that this product wasn't as effective as the one i tried before.I was baffled i couldn't understand as to why the ants didn't even touch the stuff, at times they will consume the products , other times they will simply ignore the product and walk pass me laughing. So i double checked my order and discovered something i didn't noticed before i started to use the product.in fact when i saw the words "Combat" i didn't dwell on me it was a different product packaging until i noticed that instead of saying "Combat Ant Killing Gel".What it said was "Combat Source Kill Max A2". at first i contacted the seller to see if they had sent me the wrong product.while i was waiting for a response i noticed that the ants were still ignoring the product better yet after examining the area with a magnifying glass i can actually see the ants sitting back in their lounge chairs drinking margaritas. let me get Serious Now & get back to my review.i went one step further and contact the manufacturer of the "Combat source kill max A2" product. I wanted to know if the "Combat Ant Killing Gel" and the "Combat Source Kill Max A2" were 2 different products? Here is what i have discovered, The manufacturer of the "Combat Ant Killing Gel in which is called "Henkel" explain to me that they no longer make the"Combat Ant Killing Gel" and that in fact the product was replaced with a product Now called"Combat Source Kill Max A2".Here in Bolo it is still being advertised as "Combat Ant Killing Gel" all thou some vendors still have a supply in hand other simply are shipping out the new "Combat Source Kill Max A2".inwhich i find the this new product to be useless not as effective as the Old "Combat Ant Killing Gel".If your ordering this product keep in mind that the product with the Barcode "023400 973064" is infact for the product called "Combat Source Kill Max A2"After expressing the non effective use of this product to the manufacturer they informed me that they offer a better and more potent product. They offered me to send me a coupon for me to try out this new product. For those who got the new product instead of the one being advertized as "Combat Ant Killing Gel" you can simply ask for a refund even thou you tried the product. As to the confusion as some people getting the "Combat Ant Killing Gel" and some getting the "Combat Source Kill Max A2" instead. it's the responsibility of the seller to check and make sure that the product they are shipping is the same product being advertized. Having said that i am giving this product "Combat Source kill Max A2" a one star. They do not manufacture the original "Combat Ant Killing Gel" as the picture suggest anymoreit has been replaced with " Combat Source Kill Max A2"a weaker yet less effective version.I hope this review has cleared up some confusion.*** I have informed Vendor inwhich they notified Bolo of the confusion and the Picture has been revisedto "Combat Source kill Max A2"***I hope this has clear up some confusionUpdate: Sept. 2016Since my review Bolo has corrected the information and posted the correct image of the newer product, But keep in mind that the product rating system is still off due to the fact that the reviews from original product (back in 2006) is mixed in with the reviews of this new product.
The BEST product for getting rid of ants!
The media could not be loaded. We had a huge ant problem. Every Spring, they’d come out in droves and get into many rooms of our house, including the kitchen, bedrooms and upstairs bathroom. We’d tried ant traps in the past but none worked. I found this product on Bolo and decided to give it a try after reading the rave reviews.Put it this way: this is the best ant killer I’ve ever used! I had to use 1 and a half tubes, with multiple splodges in areas I’d seen the ants get in. Within minutes, the ants came out to eat and brought all their friends!Three or four days after first using the product, there are no more ants in the house. There are still some lingering outside, so will keep using the gel until I see no more.I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has yearly issues with ants, as this is a great, quick fix that you can see working.
Got rid of devil pharaoh ants
I’m reviewing both this product and the Deadfast 20300502 Ant Killer Plus Bait Station 3 x 4g because it was the combination of the two that got rid of our ant problem. We were dealing with pharaoh ants - those tiny tiny devils from hell - so this review is focused on these types of ants.Because these small devils are so tiny they literally get everywhere - they even managed to find their way INSIDE a jar of honey that had been shut right, and in my oven and fridge!!!They gave us hell for several weeks.I first used the bait stations to deal with inside the cupboards. These worked well to clear the ants from the cupboard (it took a few days plus clearing out, cleaning and sealing everything for them to stop coming altogether, outside of the odd one or two stragglers). For harder areas like the bathroom, around the kitchen door, and generally anywhere they march up and down where there is no direct access to food, we used the combat gel to bait and kill the ants. This worked a treat! One minute there were 4 or 5 trailing up and down; the next minute there were 30-40 gorging on the bait food! By the next day, most of the bait had been eaten with several dead bodies scattered around as evidence. After several weeks of repeating this on various “traffic” sites, the ants got less and less until now - around 2 months on - they’re practically all gone!I say practically because every now and again we see one or two pop up (usually in the bathroom), but I suspect these are the lone rangers from the now dead clans who will eventually die off from loneliness and hunger (I read something like this on the Internet). So all in all, I’m pleased with both of these products. It’s always nice when something works as it should!
Ant poison
Good and effective for killing all types if ants
Great product
Very effective. One criticism - the choice of small white text on a black background made reading the instructions/precautions difficult.
Not bad for the price
I called pest control because this year the ants were all over downstairs (not limited to one room this time) and they put down advion ant gel. That is the best gel product on the market as it draws all ants (even fire ants) to it but it’s extremely expensive and after 2 hot days it dried up so ants weren’t interested in it. The ants had reduced but then started coming back en masse. I did some research and found this product. Initially when I put it down the ants (black/brown) didn’t take to it, which made me realise maybe they’re sugar ants as this is a protein bait. So I injected a tiny blob out and before putting it in their trail I sprinkled some granulated sugar over it then place a blob down. Left the room with lights off and when I came back a few mins later during mid morning, many had flocked to this sugary blob and were sticking themselves to it like their life depended on it. So I placed a left more blobs down along their trail, an inch or so away from this blob. Went out and came back in the evening and saw 1 ant. Then the next morning no ants. I haven’t seen any since and that was 2 weeks ago. I’ve since tried to use it outside and it’s helped me eradicate an outdoor nest that was trying to move indoors (again notably effective once I sprinkled sugar over it over a sink before placing it down). If it doesn’t work for you immediately then try the sugar trick. And if that doesn’t work then try advion - it is pricey but never fails, you just have to reapply it if it dries up.
