Basically zero protection in manufacturer’s box so it’s been banging around the country for 3,000 miles. Pretty sure it’s not supposed to have the center loose and hitting the sides. Came with random spring and washer and 4 loose pieces

Bought this pump from RockAuto and gas gauge read full with 5 gallons of gas and pump did not turn on. Just canceled my order for replacement, I’m not buying another Carter. I should have researched more. I have learned lots of these pumps don’t last.
