I have been using Cosmamin DS for many years and always remember how well it worked when I first started: no longer were my initial steps getting out of bed painful. I have used the product ever since and will not stop it to see if the pain returns. Generally a good price using Bolo and sometimes not available locally in my area, certainly not at a reasonable price. If your hips, knees or ankles go "ouch in the morning," give Cosamin DS a try. I started with 3 capsules a day and reduced to 2 capsules a day after a month or so and have not increased the dose since.

My husband and I have been taking for about a month. I have arthritis in my upper back/neck and my knees crackle when I bend or climb stairs. It was recommended by one of my 85 year old patients whom has taken it for years and swears by it stating it prevented a knee replacement after being told she would probably need one. She said she has tried many glucosamine/chondroitin supplents and this one is the best. My husband has terrible arthritis in his thumb which has required steroid injections for pain relief. I mostly bought it to prevent further joint damage, not really expecting pain relief. Prior to starting this, I was taking 600mg ibuprofen daily for back and neck pain, and he was about to schedule another appointment for injection. I have not taken an ibuprofen since the 4th day of starting this, and his thumb pain is 90% better! We both take the recommended 3 capsules per day. We haven't experienced any negative side effects of this medication. If you are on the fence, I highly recommend giving it a try!

I found a half of empty shell inside. Seems like the manufacturer needs to pay attention of the quality control. I feel little better in my pain within one week. Hop this will work overtime.

I got an anterior superior labral tear in my right hip and have been in constant pain ever since the accident. Surgery is an option but with little chance of improvement so I decided to wait. I got this brand recommended for my dog and the difference in him was astonishing. I searched Bolo to see if there is a version for human consumption too. I found these and been taking them for about 3 weeks now. Yesterday I realized that the pain has become less and less over the past 2 or so weeks and I hardly feel it anymore. Funny how we sometimes don't immediately notice that pain has disappeared, probably because the "no-pain" condition is how it actually should be, what's actually normal. Anyways, the only thing that has changed is that I started taking Cosamin DS. I've tried other glucosamine/ chondroitin sulfate products before and felt no change. But this one seems to be the real deal. I will continue to take it and post an update in a few months to see whether it really holds up.On a final note: These are tablets. Which is great for me because my stomach does not do well with capsules. The capsule's hulls upset my stomach. Tablets don't. So I am glad these come in tablet form as well.
