5.0 out of 5 stars My Go-To Polymer Clay
This is definitely my go-to clay. It is a soft clay so it can be tricky to work with, but that means less ache for your hands. I have tried other Sculpey clays, and most of them are too hard to warm up and mold, and make my hands ache trying to work with them. No matter what clays I've tried, I've always come back to this white clay. The terra-cotta color is also nice and soft like this one. I've had no problems baking and painting this white clay. I've created small keychains, small sculptures, and medium sculptures. All with ease and paintability. The paint goes on nicely, and a couple of coats is the trick to a full color. I top them with Liquitex varnishes (matte, gloss) and they perform nicely without becoming tacky. Don't be fooled by the less than 5 star reviews. This clay is versatile and great. The clay comes in a single box, with 8 blocks, in a single wrap of plastic. If your clay comes a dried out, add baby oil and Sculpey Clay Softener until you reach your desired softness. I recommend for beginners, amateurs, and pros alike.

5.0 out of 5 stars First Timer
My daughter did this for her HS Graduation project for Environmental Science. This was her first time working with clay or doing such a project. For being her first time molding and sculpturing I think she did an incredible job. She says the clay was soft and easy to work with. Price was reasonable. She did use a clay rolling machine for the turtles shell.* Turtle’s name is Crush. ☺️ Thank you
4.0 out of 5 stars Color me bummed...
It was great until the baking process. Everything turned out very nice. However, the fumes it puts off can make you ill. If you have sinus problems or allergies, you may want to consider this. Also, I needed at least a day between baking clay and cooking a meal. The smell lingered.I’ve used about half of the container over five different sessions. I used it a week ago, had barely pulled the tray from the oven when my nose & throat began burning. At times I can still “taste the smell” & as of today, still coughing/sneezing & leaky eyes.Disappointing, I really enjoyed the process of working with & painting afterward. Made some neat dragons & faerie garden goodies.A shame because it really makes some kool creations & works very well in silicone molds.
5.0 out of 5 stars This Is My Go-To Clay
I am in love with this clay. I think it is a bit too finicky for a beginner, and it has a learning curve all its own (like all clays) but once you get acclimated to it you can make some really dope stuff. I used to get irritated at the fragility of the pieces made with it, but then I read about the tempering hack and now I can say I have made a bust of one of my characters that has fallen off the top shelf of my desk three times and not broken or cracked one bit. If you're having trouble with the durability of your pieces, immediately submerge them in very cold water out of the oven and they ought to be more sturdy. Fingerprints in the clay can just be buffed off after baking. If you plan on painting this clay after baking, I'd just like to forewarn you that it is very difficult to get an even, streak-free color, and it's probably for the best to just buy the pre-colored bricks and go from there.
5.0 out of 5 stars soo much fun && great for gifts!
I bought the clay to make Christmas gifts this year. I had alot of fun making them! I think if I want to have the art colored, I think I'll buy the clay that's already colored. maybe it's me, but I didn't like how it looked when I painted it so I used watercolor which was cool on some of them but then I just ended up using permanent markers.the time the art stays in the oven depends how big it is. I think most of them stayed in for 40 45 mins at 250-275 degrees.
Perfect. Just as described
Love this clay. Easy to use and work with. Very happy with my purchase. Thank you !! Would definitely buy more in the future
Easy to work with
Conditioning it is very easy. Not suitable for using in moulds unless I put it in the fridge to firm up first otherwise it distorts the clay when I try to get it out of the mould. Perfect for sculpting small items. The price is also excellent.
This is the best value for money in polymer clay that I have found.
I am using this clay for making props, heads, hands and feet for stop motion puppets. It is a bit soft, but once you get used to its texture it is nice to work with. I prefer the white Sculpey original as it is easy to paint if another colour is need. Polymer clay is good for my purposes as the turnaround from concept to finished sculpture is very fast. Air dry clay and Apoxy have some advantages, but it is so convenient to get an idea and then turn it into a usable item for filming in a couple of hours that I tend to use Sculpey most of the time.
Perfect- Great price and quick shipping
Product as described.
Don’t let this AMAZING PRICE and Quality pass you by!!!!!!!
Of course anyone who knows about polymer clay knows sculpey is top of the line with quality. I usually use Primo, and this is why I only gave this product 4 stars. Primo is tougher after being baked.Sculpey original worked great for figurines and anything thicker. If you are looking to make thin polymer pendants, I would recommend Primo.I was very impressed with how fast this arrived and the excellent price! Most times I find it from 20-29$ per pound. There is almost nothing you can’t make with this! Let your imagination FLY!!!!!!!
