Most people know their zodiac symbol - but they don't know their blood type! Which information do you think is more helpful to your health? I found an at home Eldoncard blood type test which is inexpensive and works like a charm! It comes in a sealed foil pouch so that it stays clean. You also get four "stirrers", a little water-drop sucker (like a turkey baster), a little alcohol for cleaning, and a swab. You get a cheap finger poker, but I already had much better finger pokers from my various other test kits I've played with over the years, so I didn't use theirs. There are four spots pre-colored. One is for A. One for B, one for the Rh factor, and one is a control spot. What you are aiming to do is put one drop of blood into each circle. Sounds easy, right? However I am an AWFUL bleeder. When I make the finger pricks they dry up instantly. Even if I stick my fingers in hot water and do all the other tricks. This is a known problem with me (and apparently judging from my email of people who agree, a problem for many others as well). However this test wants you to do ALL FOUR spots at the same time! So you have to get four large drops of blood in a row! I absolutely think they should let you do them one at a time or at least offer that as an explained option for slow bleeders like me. It's certainly *possible* to do the tests one at a time. They just tell you that you need to do them all at once, which makes an already stressful test become nearly impossible. So there I was with my boyfriend. We added the starter drop of water to each spot. Then it was a round of sticking my fingers into a mug of hot water, poking them, squeezing for blood, having him help with the blood gathering, and it was not fun trying to race to do it all at the same time. But eventually we did get a drop of blood into each spot, and stirred each one. Then we tilted the card up, down, left, and right so that the blood filled each circle properly.Voila! (I have a photo of it on my Low Carb site if you want to read along). The first one has clumps. This means it is positive. So I have the A factor. The second one has NO clumps. It is negative, I have no B factor. That means my blood type is A.The third one has clumps. This is positive, and is the Rh factor. So this means the total blood type is A+. I'm happy, I like being A+ :)The fourth circle is just a control. This should never have clumps - if it did, the test has a problem with it.So besides the trauma of getting blood to come out of my fingers all at once (which took holes in six fingers plus one toe to get to work) the test itself was very easy to use and understand. There are clear diagrams to help you understand the clumping. The test itself is clear. And now I know my blood type, which is important for ALL sorts of reasons!Well recommended. I would just say if you're a low bleeder like many of us are, consider just doing one test at a time. That is start with ONE circle. Put the initial drop of water just in that one circle. Add blood to just that circle. Stir just that circle, tilt around the card. Let it fully dry. Then move on. I think life would be far saner doing it that way.I purchased this test kit with my own money from Bolo.

My significant other and I never knew our blood types since we lived in the UK during Mad Cow. Now I know that I am A+, and my SO is B-.The test was easy to do and included very clear and thorough instructions. I recommend sitting. First, you place droplets of water on all of the card's circles. Then it's stabby time. They provide you with a single-use alcohol swab and lancet. The lancet is like a cork with a hole on one end of it. No needle in sight. You won't ever see the needle - it pops you fast and then withdraws right back into the lancet, never to be seen again. The lancet will only work once, so don't do a test run. Place the lancet over the pad of either your middle or ring finger, on the side facing your pinky and then press down until there's a pop. I looked away and focused on something else, but it really hurt more than I was expecting. I had a bruise for 2 days afterward, and I do not bruise easily. A little piece of advice: don't think about the stabbing if you are doing this alone, or if you can, have someone else do it. Then sit back and let the arm hang toward the floor. If I were to do this again, I would have put a paper towel underneath since both my SO and I bled very quickly and dripped all over the floor.Next, applying the blood: they provide four little sticks, one for each of the circles. Do NOT use the same stick twice, you might contaminate one of the circles and get an inaccurate result. Put a drop of blood into a circle and stir. Repeat 3 more times and all the work is done. Wait for the card to dry down, and then compare the card to all of the possible results in the directions. The directions show what each result looks like in large, clear illustrations. Once your card is completely dry, you can apply the included sheet of adhesive plastic over the top to laminate it.That's it!I will purchase this again for anyone that doesn't know their blood type!

This was a good product and easy to use. I recommend reading the instructions a couple of times before you start and then following each step as you start the process. The thing that sucks is that I just could not bleed enough and the little blood pot utensils they give you are not great at catching blood, so, I struggled with that, but it did eventually get the job done. I believe I did not bleed enough b/c the little blade just doesn't cut deep enough and it makes a very tiny hole. If you've ever gone to the doctor's office and been poked for a bit of blood, they somehow always get more blood out of you, right? Well, those suckers are about the size of a pen and probably a bit stronger b/c of that. The one's they give you are half the size, but it get's the job done. I would recommend massaging the entire finger to get the blood pumping out of the little hole you made. I did have to poke a second finger for the last 2 spots, but I suppose that is why they sent 2 of the spring blades in one package.Anyway, if you follow the instructions, you will find no issues w/getting results. Despite my struggle with getting blood, I still got my results just fine. Be careful though, I did make kind of a mess, for some reason, I thought it was a good idea to shake my hand to help me process the tiny prick I made and I splattered tiny drops of blood all over my bathroom counter. My bathroom counter is white, so the tiny red spots definitely showed up.
