The main reason my pressure is low is due to taking blood pressure meds. I needed an accurate blood pressure machine that could reliable read my pressure. My doctors wanted to reduce my meds, but if my pressure were to spike it could kill me. I needed something reliable that I could use every day. I have purchased 3 other machines from Bolo. None of them are accurate. They could easily be 10 or more points high or low on Systolic. I needed something that would read consistently and be within 1 or 2 points off max. Last visit at the Doctors office I noticed they were using one of these machines. I figure if it is good enough for them to measure their patients that could be misdiagnosed if their blood pressure readings were off, it was good enough for me.This machine is a bit overkill for a home, but it is a wonderful product that is very accurate. The pressure cups are a bit difficult to put on by myself, but I figured out that I could pre-wrap the cup and slide it onto my arm. The trick is to get the cup wrapped tight enough that one finger will fit between it and your bicep after being slid onto the arm. It can't be too tight or loose or the machine will not read the pressure correctly. When I found the right spot, I put a mark on the cup so I can pre set it exactly where I need it every time. Makes the machine super fast to use and I can do it without any assistance.I have been using this machine every day since I bought it. I usually run the machine on the average setting where it will take 2 or 3 measurements with a rest in-between measurements. Every measurement is very close to each other. Running several measurements in a row and doing the same on another arm is a good way to verify that the readings are consistent. My measurements are typically 1-3 points of each other on Systolic and usually identical on Diastolic. Another point to note is this machine can also be calibrated if you have an old mercury blood pressure system with the manual pump to use. There are directions on how to do it in the manual.Overall I am very pleased with this purchase. If you have the money and want a blood pressure machine you can count on, this is the one to get.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Unit
This process of this purchase increased my blood pressure! Evaluating the # of options that you have with BP monitors is crazy! There are a lot of lower cost options but for each of those you will find plenty of reviews complaining of inaccurate-inconsistent readings. When you consider that these options are hundreds of dollars of difference in cost it makes the decision even tougher. In my case, even my primary indicated not to spend a bunch of money on these monitors made the decision even tougher.Based on the reviews for this unit and comments made in those reviews where they are finding the same unit in their doctor’s office and the lack of negative reviews was enough for me to pull the trigger. I have been using this unit for over a month and love the features and results of this unit. The results are consistent with readings at the doctor’s office. There are options to take a single reading or take an average of multiple readings controlled with a switch on the front of the unit. The display is easy to read and the cuff works great. One item to note is that as indicated in other reviews is that if you remove the Velcro each time this is a 2 person task. If you leave the Velcro in place and slide the cuff on and off your arm this turns into a 1 person task - and works great.Even though this was a tough decision before pulling the tigger on this transaction - after using the unit this seems like a no-brainer!
1.0 out of 5 stars Terribly inaccurate
I purchased the Omron Hem 907XL Blood Pressure Monitor 8 months ago because my BP levels were extremely high. My doctor prescribed appropriate BP medication and I have used Omron to monitor my BP levels for the last 8 months. Even after increasing the dosage of my BP meds, my BP levels would not decrease. A few days ago, I went to my doctor for a routine physical. I usually check my BP levels twice a day. The Omron consistently reported my BP levels around 180/125. When I went to the doctor's office most recently, their machine indicated that they were 118/78. I showed the nurse my BP log for the preceding 7 days with levels between 160-185 over 98-125. She suggested that I bring in my Omron so that they could compare its measurements with that of their tried, tested and true BP monitor. When I took it to my doctor's office, the Omron gave two measurements of 186/115 and 179/111. The doctor's office BP monitor gave measurements of 148/96 and 136/84.Perhaps only my Omron is so incredibly inaccurate. Perhaps they all are. I have no idea. All I know is that my $700.00 Omron is so inaccurate, that I cannot rely on it. Moreover, it has unnecessarily caused me to increase the dosage of BP medication that I take.It is extremely frustrating and disappointing that Omron allows such inaccurate machines to leave its factory.Do not waste your money on this unit.
4.0 out of 5 stars This is not for 1 person to use by themselves
Omron HEM 907XL IntelliSense Professional Digital Blood Pressure Monitor is very good, very high quality and very quiet. However, I returned it. It is designed to be used in a medical setting or where it is a two person operation. I found it very difficult and slow to put the cuff on and to take it off by myself. I bought the unit to use on me personally. I wanted a high quality unit. But it is too cumbersome to use by oneself. The cheaper units put the cuff on and off relatively easy. Also, it says you can use a mercury unit to test and calibrate this unit. I am not sure that is correct. I did not read the whole manual. But it appears you have an option to use a stethoscope with it rather than the default automatic mode. I had a mercury sphygmomanometer and gave it to my doctor. He was very happy to accept it, as mercury units are no longer available on the market, due to potential spill contamination. So even if it can be tested by a mercury sphygmomanometer, it is not a practical feature.
