This the best cooking vessel I have ever owned (except for my great grandmother's iron kettle). I have owned other electric woks which did not perform well. This has perfect heat distribution. It is very easy to clean. Food glides right out of the pan. I have done stir fry and even spaghetti sauce in it. It's amazing. I have an Aroma rice cooker, & I trust the Aroma name. It has lived up to it and then some! It's a great value! As is recommended, lightly coat with an oil like peanut, canola or veg oil (not olive or avocado) after washing.

Very good quality. My tempura rack sits perfectly.. Maybe some people got one that was slightly bent? As for the complaints about not being able to put the lid on with the tempura rack. Why would you? Tempura should be crisp. The rack is just to drain. If you put the lid on it would turn that lovely crispy food that you just made into something not crisp.You do not use the tempura rack while steaming. Just two different cooking styles. The wok allows for both cooking styles. They can be served together but not cooked in the same pot at the same time together. This is a great kitchen gadget but one must understand the basics of cooking. For those with limited cooking skills I suggest a cookbook like Michael Bittman How To Cook Everything. Or even just a cookbook about stir frying Japanese or Chinese foods.Although the booklet that comes with this states that the wok is not intended for deep frying, it does come with a tempura rack and the Aroma website has a recipe specifically for this wok for fried foods. (Not stir fried. Fried. Says add two cups of oil) I am guessing that the warning is for their own liability. If one is not familar with deep frying then I would not use this to first try it. A deep pot would be better. In either case I would use a splatter gaurd. Not the lid as condensation will cause more splattering. I plan to have many fun dinners with this!!ETA~ While making dinner tonight I noticed a couple of things to comment on. My electric cord fits very snug (which is good since some complained theirs was lose) Mine heats up very very quickly! Some people were commenting about the sides of the wok to retaining the same heat as the bottom. I want to say that the sides of the wok are suppose to remain cooler. That is the nature of wok cooking and why the pan is designed like a bowl. If you ever watch a Chef cooking Asian foods in a wok then you will recall that when they are done with lets say the veggies, they move them up to the side of the wok and then add their meat and sauce. If the sides stayed as hot as the bottom then the veggies would over cook.

Wife and I never owned any form of wok before but decided on an electric, based on other reviewers who claimed the range top variety doesn't get hot enough. The relatively low cost of the Aroma afforded an affordable chance to try wokking. We are so glad we did.The size of this wok is perfect for us. We've fed four adults from one batch of Terriaki salmon stir-fry, seconds included. When it's the two of us, we have enough to refrigerate for another meal. Our meals reheat very well in the microwave. We could've fit even more food in the wok but a couple of preheated (microwaveable, frozen) vegetable packs fit nicely with the meat.This unit heats up fully in about 5 minutes. The indicator light goes out to let you know when your selected temperature has been reached. We cook most meats at 7 or 8, but used 9 for pork because I like it darkened more. We marinate the meat before it goes in. We tend to use more peanut oil than recommended to ensure the meat cooks quickly and completely in 2 minutes. It hasn't bothered the flavor. After two minutes we add the vegetables that we pre-heated. We then drizzle more sauce (soy plus terriaki, sweet and sour, Jack Daniels barbecue, whatever we marinated with) and often sprinkle on some coriander (its lemony flavor is especially great with shrimp and with salmon pieces).The Aroma cools down in 15 minutes or so. It's very easy to wipe clean with a lightly soaped and dampened paper towel. We haven't found the need to place it in the sink for immersion cleaning. We don't use the lid because we don't steam anything, but it's made of heavy glass and has vent openings for when needed. The power cord and controller are unitized and have a squeezeable lever to attach and disconnect it from the wok. We push it in a little farther after the lever has been released because the unit isn't otherwise fully inserted. You'll readily feel this.Given the price we were astonished at the quality of the materials. Who can say how long the cooking surface coating will last -- on this Aroma or on the higher priced brands? At this price and given how much we now enjoy wokking we'll certainly replace it when the time comes with whichever brand and model looks to do the job.

this wok is very nice to use , as soon as i turn it on , it heat up fast and after cooking my food in the wok , the clean up was very easy , the only disadvantage is the cord , it too bad the cord cannot come off the wok to make clean up in the sink a little easier , otherwise it is an excellent wok

El wok funciona bien y tiene buen tamaño para una comida de 2-4 personas. La recubierta antiadherente evita que se le pegue la comida y es muy facil de limpiar. Calienta extraordinariamente rápido para ser eléctrico t la distribuciòn de calor parece ser uniforme.Lo comprè para mi mamà que queria un wok que pudiera usar con su estufa de induccion, pero no estaba convencida con la manera en que los woks de acero funcionan con las superficies planas de las vitrocerámicas. este wok soluciòn el problema y ella no notò la diferencia entre una cazuela para su estufa y este producto.Solo elimino una estrella, porque al remover el wok de su base elèctrica una piza de aluminio se cayò. El mecanismo para remover la base no parece estar muy bien construido asi que ya no los separamos. No es una falla gigantesca por el precio pero hace falta hacerla notar.
US PRODUCT 120C US plug
NOWHERE in the description did it mention the plug is US and it is 120V. This is not a deal killer for us because we have a step-down converter for my wife's mixer, so we should be okay.Bolo, WHY ARE YOU SELLING US ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS IN IRELAND AND THE UK?

This electric wok is just great! Excellent quality, fast to HOT and back to WARM. Perfect for stir frying and any chinese dishes, excellent all around quality and being removable from the base makes it very easy to keep clean and maintain! Highly recommended from this at home hidden gourmet!

I received my electric wok today and thought I'd give it a spin. I was trying tempura, and found I needed to crank the heat all the way to max. That was ok, because that ensured the meat was fully cooked. It turned out PERFECT!CLEAN-UP: I was GENUINELY pleased at the EASE this wok cleaned up. It is thankfully not heavy, so manipulating it at the sink was great, and all oil was removed with little effort. Great product, would recommend!
