Phoenix Systems (3001-B) Brake Fluid Test Strips, 100 Test Strips Per Tube, BrakeStrip, FASCAR, Copper,White

Description:

About this item:

  • Helps increase the number of needed brake fluid exchange services you perform by providing proof for the needed service.
  • Gives you and your team of service advisors confidence to offer a needed brake fluid exchange.
  • Identifies potential brake flulid related problems before they occur -thereby ensuring your customers safety.
  • Simply remove a test strip from the tube, dip it into brake fluid and 60 seconds later you will know the condition of the brake fluid. (scientific proof)
  • The test follows MAP guidelines and DOT test standards to determine when to change brake flujid. Great for DOT 3, 4 and 5.1 brake fluid (most vehicles use DOT 3 or 4)
  • Overtime brake fluid wears out leaving the brake system vulnerable to internal corrosion. Corrosion causes pre-mature brake failure and leads to compromised safety and very costly repairs. Each test strip reveals the condition of your customers' brake fluid. Changing brake fluid at the right time (not too soon and not too late) will help prevent costly repairs, improve safety and extend the life of critical brake parts. We should "Test Not Guess".

Works just like they said. It's important to note that you should test for BOTH moisture AND corrosion in your brake fluid. These test for corrosion and you can get something else from Bolo to quickly and electronically test for moisture. Glad I got them. Of our five vehicles, it showed that one of them needs to have its lines flushed. The strips didn't show severe corrosion, but compared to the other four vehicles it was not so good so I am treating this as an "early warning" system.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Have For Every Automotive Repair Shop

    L.C. · June 22, 2013

Most shops "look" at brake fluid and determine from visual inspection if the fluid needs to be replaced. This subject analysis really misses the mark and causes the image of the automotive repair industry to be tarnished. I have seen absolutely black brake fluid pass the FASCAR test as well as the moisture test. If you are in the business of automotive repair, invest the money on these strips as well as a moisture content testing device. When used together, they can be used to show the customer without a doubt if the brake fluid needs to be replaced and why.

An interesting and novel idea to test for contaminated brake fluid. It worked just fine on the 3 cars I tried it on. 2 of them need the fluid flushed after finding the fluid bad.

these strips do not work at all, tried on different types of brake fluid brands and never worked, garbage

4.0 out of 5 stars Works but hard to be very precise

Easy enough to use and test the strip color but as the color gets closer to the 100 or even 200 level it becomes difficult to distinguish...they are not different colors just different shades...also, if you alternate between blue and amber colored brake fluid to help you distinguish when your line flush is complete...this shading tends to be distorted by the blue dye in the fluid...best to stick with amber fluid with this product I'm thinking. I still use a separate tester to check for water infiltration...this test strip won't detect H2O contamination.

I wanted a definitive way to test the brake fluid rather than just flush it out which seems to me driven more by sales than the real reason to change it

Take the guess out of brake oil changes

Excellent product. Has already paid itself by premature brake oil changes.
