5.0 out of 5 stars Far better than big tea bag.
I love iced tea. I drink iced tea daily. Normally I use tea bags from one of the big tea bag manufacturers. Lipton, Salada, Red Rose etc. Usually Lipton. This has always been fine. However, my teen son has recently been learning about microplastics and urged me to stop using tea bags. (Look up tea bags and microplastics.) I reluctantly agreed and started searching for loose orange pekoe or black tea. I happened upon this ^ company on Bolo and the reviews seemed good so I gave it a try. I am so glad I did. This stuff makes some of the best iced tea I've ever had. First off the leaves are whole so its not some ground up mystery powder found in tea bags. Its a dense bag of dried tea leaves! It looks great. Smells delicious. Despite being a long time tea drinker, I am a bit of a tea novice. I've been limited to commercial tea bags, however the difference, to me, is huge. It's hard to describe. I mean, it tastes like the tea I normally drink, but way better. Fresher. Smoother. Less bitter. Without that teabag taste. It's like I can differentiate the different flavors and aromas better. They're more present. It is much better than tea bags. I'll never go back. I purchased one of those big tea brewing cans with all the holes so no microplastics. Pour into a glass pitcher then into a glass cup. I've already made it through most of the bag, I'm ordering another pound of this tea right after I right this review.Long story short, this tea is far better than any teabags I've tried.
5.0 out of 5 stars My go-to tea!
My wife and I are all day tea fanatics, and this is our go-to. We brew it up in our çaydanlık (ie, Turkish samovár) and drink it all day. It's wonderful straight, but also works well as a base tea if you want to blend flavoured tea or spices with it. Oh, another reviewer whose name is Tommy complained this "orange pekoe tea" doesn't taste anything like orange. Just so people know, the "orange" in "orange pekoe" has nothing to do with flavour or colour. It appears to be from Dutch involvement in the tea trade back in colonial times, according to one theory. (Royal family colour.) It's just a name, not to be taken literally.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for every day, good energy and flavor
This is an excellent tea. Whole leaves too, not siftings or dust. It has a great full-bodies flavor, notable caffeine levels and has an excellent price. Goes great with can sugar and milk too.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good value.
You get a lot of tea for the price. It's a bit light in both flavor and caffeine and a long steep time compared to most black teas.Because of this it's great for custom blending with herbal teas in my opinion. As the flavor doesn't overpower others and it's steep time is more flexible and forgiving so herbals can get their chance to develop.Though it's quite good on it's own. That said, don't make my mistake and not have a big enough container for it. Whole leaf's take up a lot more volume then I expected and I ended up needing two containers to keep it all in. Lol.Just tells you how much you are really getting of the stuff.
5.0 out of 5 stars Whole leaf orange pekoe
Excellent tea very nice. No junk clear tea perfect flavor.
3.0 out of 5 stars Terrible Packaging
The tea comes in a thin foil package within a thin cardboard box. This would be fine if they included 10% less tea and 5% more air to allow for compression during shipping. My foil package was split down the middle upon arrival and when opening, it spilt everywhere. By the tell of the brittle, very dry, leaves and lack of flavor upon steeping, the package was open for at least 3 days prior to arrival. I can assume the tea flavor was ok, 7/10 if it was fresh as intended. Do not buy this product, there are better ones throughout Bolo.
5.0 out of 5 stars Top Shelf Orange Pekoe Tea
Real Orange Pekoe Tea Is Right Here Folks!I am a tea person, period! I grew up drinking Lipton tea, which was and is supposedly still an Orange Pekoe (black) tea. I loved the flavor and aroma of that tea. Over the past two to three decades or so, that flavorful and aromatic tea seemed to disappear as the demand for tea grew exponentially across the world and as laws changed with regard to what a manufacturer could actually put in their bags besides just tea leaves. Today, it's extremely difficult to find that authentic Orange Pekoe flavor. I thought I had come close with Twinnings Ceylon Orange Pekoe. It was still a crap shoot from box to box whether you would get some authentic tasting Orange Pekoe tea or not. Well, they recently repackaged their product, now calling it Ceylon black tea with orange pekoe as its ingredient. Hmmm... I can tell you that it seems more watered down and flavorless to me. So sad!And then comes, into my life, Zarrin's Pure Ceylon Tea (OPA), Special Orange Pekoe Grade A, loose-leaf tea. It's simply amazing! The flavor. The aroma. The memories of decades past sitting with a great cup of tea. I was worried that I'd never find an outstanding, or even good, cup of Orange Pekoe tea ever again. Here it is, though, in this very innocuous-looking box. Thank you, Zarrin. I guess I can die happy now. Lol.
5.0 out of 5 stars Rich flavor fresh and tastes good
I tasted this tea wondering if it would be any good. It was really hard to tell based on some of the reviews. However this tea is amazing quality. It's fresh the smell is good and it has the taste I'm looking for. I'm not sure how much richness you are looking for but for me this tea has the perfect drinkability. It's tasty and is good with lemon or as an Arnold palmer. I originally found this type of tea at disneyland in the blue bayou restaurant but after looking for the brand they had I found it was only sellable to companies. So I went on a search for this type of tea. This tea was just as good if not better as the rituals tea that us foods makes. It's rich and has excellent drinkability. I think this is my new go to tea. At the price point it has you can't go wrong.
Happy i cand fine anthing in Amazon
Love it the tea happy to finde it in Bolo
Five Stars
Great quality product.A medium flavored tea, no bitter aftertaste
meh
I bought both OP and OPA from a tea plantation (Blue Field) in SriLanka a couple of years ago and it was definitely the best black tea I've ever had. It's supposed to have a strong buttery flavour and no bitterness at all. This is not it. This tastes like supermarket tea. I believe that for the OPA grade it has to be only the first leaf which gives the tea that fresh but rich flavour. This tasted like old and lower quality leafs. It's not quite as bitter as the powder you buy at walmart but I still feel the bitterness and no trace of the actual flavour I was expecting.
