I have a great Cuisinart automatic 14 cup coffee pot. With just 2 of us living here now, it’s too big when not having guests. I put the Cuisinart into our pantry and bought this simple 12 cup coffee maker. I make 10 cups daily. I have it plugged into an Alexa smart plug. Turn the smart plug off, turn the coffee pot on.Then, when making your pot of coffee;• fill the coffee pot with water, pour this water into the water to the reservoir, add the coffee grounds (use a paper filter)• turn on the smart plug• you’ve got a pot of coffeeIf you want it to turn it on the next morning at a certain time, JUST TELL ALEXA WHEN YOU WANT IT TURNED ON, as in “Alexa turn on coffee pot at 5 tomorrow morning”.Just remember that you are controlling it through the smart plug and not through the coffee maker. Be sure to turn it off after you are all done, but turn it off using smart plug.

Just received. Not even opened and used but hoping it will last significant time especially since it has no bells or whistles. I still have my old one (Hamilton Beach, +15 years, I think) that’s seen better days and time for a younger version to take over. Giving this one a try. I think these without the bells and whistles are less likely to breakdown but as many people are aware, quality of such products tends to go down with the years. Will update my review before return expires.

I am blind so I can not comment on the looks of the product. It is well put together and fixes a flaw my old Black and Decker coffee maker had that thier was a gap that allowed steam to escape and if you brushed it with your hand you knew it. The basket for the filters and coffee is good solid construction along with the carafe. My only quibble is the lip for the carfe is a little narrow so judging how much you are pouring is tricky. The coffee comes out good and hot but not scorching. It only has a on off switch which is perfect for a blind person no other buttons to mess with turn it on and brew coffee turn it off when you are done. Coffee brewing is fast sub 5 mintues but if you need caffine yesterday it has a steal a cup function where if you remove the carfe it will stop brewing I can not really comment on that because I need my morning caffine shot but not that badly.

I always bought a Mr Coffee for decades but the heating coil area always corroded and the black coating would come off. So I bought this B&D and it works great and the heating coil area looks way better then the Mr Coffee - not to Knock Mr Coffee which still made very good coffee too but the longevity is what I was looking for as prices have doubled for these automatic brewers during the latest Inflationary Economy of the last 3 1/2 yrs

I really wanted a white coffee maker but the small white ones never lasted. They were poorly designed and shoddy. After 3 different brands I just gave in and got the Black and Decker. I can tell this is better quality and will last and make coffee with no fuss or muss. And black colored looks fine in my kitchen.

I noticed that the water dispenser has a red round unit which distributes the water evenly as it goes into the coffee grounds. This prevents the coffee filter from folding up and the coffee grounds from going into the coffee pot.

I won’t make excuses for the B&D. It lacks ability to make a truly hot pot of coffee. Perhaps it’s a design flaw. But it raises questions about how it had such good reviews as is often the case with products that fail to meet the minimum expectations. After brewing, and even if I leave it on the warmer a while after brewing. The results are the same - temp is Just above warm. I have bought many MANY coffee makers over the decades. Currently in use; (4i,e,) one 12 cup drop. One 5 cup drip 5-7 years old still works better than this. One Lrg & one small kcup. All of them are years old and all have traveled a few times for wrk or vacay.I bought this ANZN product to replace my small 5 cup that was about 7 yrs old at best. Deapite routine cleaning n maintenance it was over due to replace. However, despite the over use, travel, and age of my old 5 cup, it still makes a better cup of coffee than the product I replaced it with - the product of this review. I gave it a try and sadly I regret that I cannot recommend this product. Dear shoppers. When it comes to this type of appliance, I suggest spending a few dollars more or buy products that allow more than 30 days to return or replace. THIS Bolo SELLER/PRODUCT DID NOT OFFER ***EXTENDED WARANTYand I’ve often been disappointed to learn that the Bolo WRTY SELLER*** Very often refuses to assist until MANUFACTURER WRTY is expired. ITS OFTEN TO DISCOURAGE RETURNS OR REPAIR SERVICE REQUESTS. HOWEVER, ***The way around that - PUT PRODUCT AWAY TILL MFTR WRTY EXPIRES. Then SEEK assistance.This might be a FLUKE. But it’s definitely A HEADACHE and may also be A WASYE OF MY MONEY. And that’s terrible at a time when price gouging is hitting consumers in every department- especially food and small appliances. I remember these little machines often on sale for $10 - not just on Black Friday. Now it’s not that low even on Black Friday. Many vendors once stood behind their products and priority was consumer satisfaction. Sadly, priorities have shifted elsewhere. I’ll update this review with any changes in results of this product purchase. For now I’m looking for the current place to buy appliances with ease and confidence in transactions. I hate writing a bad review. I don’t avoid it. It’s consumers’ duty.

I bought this because pods were actually costing more in one month than the entire cost of this product. Plus with pods you cannot control the strength that well. Its Plasticy which is fine with me and if you break the urn I see them all the time at thrift stores. All in all I am satisfied with this coffee maker. When it says 10 cups it really means 5 mug cups but that is universal.
Perfect !!! Affordable and Exactly as Advertised
STOP BUYING EXPENSIVE COFFEE POTS!!! I was tired of spending $80+ once a year on a coffee pot that would only last a year and had special screws so that you couldn't get in and clean the water pipes inside that so easily clogged. Just think of the crap your coffee water is being filtered through before making your coffee. I'm so angry, those screws should be illegal. This coffee pot is just a simple, manual machine that would make coffee fast. Forget throwing so much money away so you can set a clock to have coffee for the morning. You can pour the water and put the grinds in the night before then simply click it on in the morning or spend one minute doing it in the morning and have your coffee faster than you can finish your morning bathroom routine. I'm angry at these companies that deliberately put those screws there to deliberately (uhum) screw you to get more money from you.So what if you spend a few days to get your perfect coffee flavour, you generally have to do that with any pot. I did have to use a bit more coffee with this one because it pours so fast - or maybe it's simply because it's a 12 cup pot instead of the 10 cup I was using. I also had x3 thermos coffee pots from the more expensive machines so I simply pour the coffee into one and voila !! Hot coffee for the day without the burn.THANK YOU 'BLACK and DECKER' for this cost-saving "Easy Pour, Non-Drip Carafe with Removable Filter Basket" product. I actually didn't check the type of screws on this one, yet - I'm still too angry about them, but I hope you think about normal ones if you're using those 'screwy' ones. Give the consumer a chance to drink clean water by letting us clean those pipes inside. I guarantee you'll increase sales on any of your coffee pots if you advertise that ability to always drink clean water with 'Black and Decker' products!

Why Pay More For A Coffee Machine?
I've owned fancy coffee making machines with confusing displays at a high cost and will never go back. These simple Black+Decker coffee machines are perfect. They're also durable and don't have the malfunctioning problems like these "fancy" coffee machines that are over-designed with technological components that fail far too soon. I've seen these simple coffee machines last longer than the Keurig's and Cusinart machines in office spaces where multiple people have to operate the machine to make their coffee. The price is dirt cheap but you get an old school reliable coffee making machine that not only does the job perfectly every time, but is simple to operate and lasts. I not only highly recommend this product but also the Black+Decker coffee grinder as well. Imagine spending $200 on a Cuisinart coffee machine that doesn't even burr your coffee beans, but then you could buy this coffee machine and their coffee grinder and pay less than half the price and less hassle. I swear by this coffee machine and highly recommend it.
Perfect Little Coffee Maker
The media could not be loaded. Title says it all.I got tired of the taste of my Keurig Coffee and I wanted to return to a drip coffee. I live alone and have no use for a large 12-cup Coffee Maker, so the Black & Decker 5-Cup is ideal for me. The 5-Cup Coffee Maker is a great space-saving product as its compact size barely takes up room on my counter top and can be easily tucked away.I have had this for several months now and the coffee still comes out nice, hot and tasty. My only minor gripe is that when you try to switch it off, it shifts easily because it is so light once all the water/coffee is removed.Pretty much 9.5/10, I would recommend this product.
