Motor oil is made from crude oil and is used to lubricate, clean, and cool engines. Types of motor oil include conventional, synthetic, diesel, bio-based, hybrid (blends of conventional and synthetic), and recycled oils. Motor oil varies in weight and viscosity, as well as additives that some manufacturers add to the oil during the refining process. A numerical code system created by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) grades motor oils according to viscosity--the higher the number between 0 and 60, the more viscous (thicker) the oil is. Most consumer motor oils are graded by two numbers, with the first number indicating cold weather (Winter or "W") performance.
SAE 20W-50
This oil has a weight of SAE 20W-50, meaning it has an SAE viscosity rating of 20 in cold temperatures and a rating of 50 at normal operating temperature. Always check your vehicle's owner's manual to verify that this is the correct weight of motor oil for your vehicle.
Full Synthetic Oil
This oil is a full synthetic oil, meaning crude oil is not used in making it. Synthetic oil can be used in vehicle engines instead of motor oils refined from crude oil, and often provides superior mechanical performance over traditional motor oil, including increased gas mileage and reduced engine wear at extreme temperatures. Its complex method of production means it can often cost more than conventional motor oil.

A Mechanic suggested this oil and he is right. I can tell it quiets the engine and smooth shifting. I'm using it in. a big V twin shared clutch, transmission,engine. I change oil between 3-4k and the bike is still quiet and shifting smooth so it is still lubricating well. 1st gear clunk is almost non existent with this oil.

I have been using this oil for 3 years in my 2007 Harley softail custom staged 2 and it definitely outperforms Harleys syn3 it’s way better when the engine is hot my lifters don’t have that type writer sound and I also use K&A Oil filter which definitely outperforms Harleys 10-1

I love the versatility of Lucas synthetic oils. I use their 20W50 in the engine, transmission, and primary on all of my motorcycles. I have several motorcycles between 2001 and 2022 model years, and have had absolutely no issues while using this product at normal maintenance intervals. I have used many other products over the years, but this has been my favorite.

Lucas Syn 20w50 maintains good oil pressure during hot engine idle as the mileage nears oil change time . A lot of other oils I've tried start loosing hot idle pressure around 3,000 Km . 2004 Harley Electra Glide .
