5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Price and Quality for What's Included. Fits my 29 Battery too!

This is an excellent product for the price point. If one were to buy all the components separately this product would cost nearly double the price. I paid $56 dollars for this product. The circuit breaker and power level gauge alone cost about that price. Throw in a rather sturdy case and two dc outlets with circuit breaker make this product an easy buy. Oh, and the outside post terminals are extremely convenientPro's: 1.Battery can be charged from the outside post. Thus you never have to open the top of the case. 2. Power gauge/meter is a great feature. 3.The 2 DC outlets work great. Before I bought this power center I connected a DC outlet to my battery and it fried my charger. No issues with this thus far. 4. Case is rather sturdy and built of decent quality.Con's: 1. Battery gauge/meter only works accurately if the motor has been off for 60 seconds. This is written on the box itself. Not a big deal but it would be nice if you could test the battery while the motor is running. 2. As some have commented I wish the top snapped onto the bottom of the box. The strap is what is used to connect the bottom and top box together. It doesn't feel secure so I just grab the box by the bottom of the box. Not a big deal.Overall, this product is excellent. The con's are me just nit picking and for the price this is a no brainer. I did several hours of researching this type of product and buying the componets seperately. This is the best product that I could find that has everything you need and is the best overall value I could find. Hope that helps.Battery Info: For those individuals who where wondering about 27 batteries and bigger fitting into this product. This Minn Kota Power Center fits my EverStart 29DC Marine Battery from Wal-Mart. However, it is a tight fit and this case would not hold anything much bigger. Many have commented that this only fits 27 batteries or smaller but this is not true. Wal-Mart lists the dimensions of my 29DC battery at 13 inches x 6.75 X 10 (L x W x H). I am not recommending getting a 29 size battery and Minn Kota only rates this to fit 27 or smaller sized batteries but this product is excellent considering the price point. Closing the top on the 29DC battery takes a little caress but this is not an issue since you never really have to take off the top cover since you can charge the battery from the outside posts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this thing! Nice idea - separate circuit for accessories.

This thing is really cool. I just bought a new marine/RV deep cycle Interstate SRM27 battery that fits nicely inside the Power Center container. Hooked up my trolling motor to the main terminals, and my lights and depth finder to the 2 accessory plug jacks. Works great! I like how it has a separate circuit breaker for the 10 amp accessory circuit, and the 60 amp main circuit. I'm using 1 or 2 amp inline fuses with the accessory plugs so I should never trip the 10 amp acc circuit, but I do like how they're separated. I also really like the built- in battery power gauge. You don't get an exact DC voltage reading, but it does give you a high level feel for where your battery is at power-wise. 4 light readings, red-yellow-green lights for recharge, 1/2 power, and full power readings. No more guessing at how much juice you have left. The plastic box feels pretty sturdy and you'll need the included strap to securely tie down the top when it's in your boat. Not sure how much I'll be using the handle on top when moving the battery around. You can use it as long as the strap's on tight, but I like using the handles on the lower part of the box where the battery sits. Feels more secure to me when lifting my 50 lb battery. So far I've only been using it in my garage while I've been tweaking my boat's electrical system. Can't wait to check it out on the water in the Spring when my boat will be ready.

5.0 out of 5 stars It looks like it would work perfectly

It is sturdy and the price is on point for this product

4.0 out of 5 stars It's done the job for me, so far

I installed this battery box in my sailboat a month ago, along with a Minn Kota Endura C2 55 trolling motor. I have had no problem so far. Be aware that this is only the container--you need to buy the battery separately. The term "Power Center" is misleading and seems to have confused a number of people (myself almost included, before I did a little more online research). To avoid confusing the consumer, it should be called "Battery Box with built-in circuit breakers and charge indicator." The box conveniently contains a 60-amp circuit breaker (recommended for use with the trolling motor) and a battery charge indicator. It can hold a Group 24 or 27 size marine battery. The box also has a cigarette lighter-style plug-in jack for accessories, protected by a 15-amp breaker. Manual reset buttons for both breakers are conveniently positioned on the top of the box.The exterior terminals are well made with good-sized, rubberized wing nuts. This allows easy disconnection and re-attachment. I disconnect after each sail, to reduce the chances of accidental drain or vandalism. The wires for connecting to the battery inside the box are well-designed and easy to use.The battery charge indicator is badly positioned for my application. I place the battery box in the transom storage area of my O'Day Daysailer, where it fits snugly. However the battery charge indicator cannot be seen in this position. To read it, I have to maneuver the box out of the tight fitting spot, with twists and tilts. Perhaps locating it on one of the down-sloping panels of the lid would make it more visible for all applications.I agree with the reviewers who point out that the top closure could be improved. The lid is only held on by a strap with a plastic latching mechanism. To tighten it, you have to yank on the strap by hand, after latching it. I also agree that the box material could be stiffened. It does flex under the heavy load of a Group 24 or 27 battery. This has not been a problem for my application. I put it once into the transom storage area of my O'Day Daysailer, and have not had to move it. However, for someone who must remove the battery frequently, a stronger box would be a big plus. Some sort of adapter to hold the smaller Group 24 battery in place would also be useful. One of the reviewers reported corrosion of the wiring after only 10 months of use. That would be a reason to lower the review to 1 or 2 stars. I have only used it for 1-month in fresh water and have had no problems so far. Delivery took just a few days with Bolo Prime. It arrived before I was even ready to install it.

I bought 3, they are that useful

I purchased these for my inflatable boats, I also own a non-inflatable boat but it has a breaker box.I use it to power an electric trolling motor, accessories and fish finder. I run two of these in parallel and the 3rd one is a back up b/c I don't want to get stranded everPros:-Very durable-The single handle is easy to use; but the two on the side are more practical-Battery meter is super handy-Easy to connect the battery in the box-Easy to connect and disconnect devices to the box-The breakerCons:-Running a group 27 battery in this box (65lbs) is very heavy for the handle. It holds up to the task, but using the two handles on the side are more practical-I wish there are some crank mechanism for the strap that holds the lid and box together, it's difficult to get it tight. If it's loose at all the handle becomes flimsy. Perhaps a velcro strip would have been better - I'm not an engineer so no idea if it would hold but it would be easier to use for sure-It'd be nice if it had a USB-C, but not a deal breaker-It doesn't have a rubber legs or grip legs
