5.0 out of 5 stars Seems great to me!
Amazing stuff. I'm mildly sensitive to caffiene, and on dialysis. I started experimenting with caffiene again, redbull, energy drinks, etc and only had negative effects. Once I tried this, the other compounds in the tea make the caffiene buzz very pleasant, even at a stronger brew, not that it needs it for flavor. I swear it helps me hold up to difficult dialysis sessions. Rather than limping through the time and discomfort, with this I can breeze through and stand strong against heavier dialysis. Props up the BP. Its also delicious, I brew at 180 for 3, 3.5 mins. Havent shopped but the price per LB is an amazing value I see no reason to shop elsewhere.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great green tea, fresh taste, long shelf life.
Gunpowder green tea has the longest shelf life of all green tea. The tea is pan fried and then rolled into balls. When the tea is boiled, the balls open up into leaves, and the taste is POW! Which is why it's called gunpowder tea.I drink tea every day, all kinds. This tea is my staple tea. You can blend it with other teas pretty easily because it is so taste neutral. I like it plain though. If you brew it over 5 minutes it will become very strong and bitter tea. Brewing for shorter times makes a more mellow tea. Also, this tea is good with cheap tea balls because the "gunpowder" is generally whole leaves that will not slip through larger mesh like many other kinds of loose-leaf tea, which get brittle when dried and tend to break into smaller flakes. In case you are new to tea and nutrition: Green tea is high in antioxidants, the beneficial components in fruits and vegetables that make them fight cancer and free radicals that cause cellular damage, which is one of the reason people in Japan have such a lower rate of cancer than us, it is surmised, although they are an industrialized nation like us, they drink a ton of tea, at every meal.
5.0 out of 5 stars This tea is amazing and delicious
I absolutely love this tea. I love that it is in bulk, and it stays fresh in the packaging. The quality is tiptop. I recommend it to anyone who likes an energetics boost in a drink! Full of antioxidants I use this to keep my way down especially after menopause. Highly recommend this product.
4.0 out of 5 stars Gunpowder green
Taste is great, very clean loose tea. Price is decent.
5.0 out of 5 stars Don't judge (gunpowder) book by cover!
OK so we've established that this gunpowder tea is not in nice, neat pellets similar to some traditional gunpowder. This tea is also a fraction of the cost of many other gunpowder teas, so who cares what it looks like. Some reviewers wrote reviews simply on what the leaves look like and didn't even brew a batch and taste it?!?The taste is outstanding for the price, although you MUST brew with cooler than boiling water. I brewed my first few cups with boiling water and they consequently tasted very bitter. Then I remembered green tea must be brewed with cooler (160-180 degree) water. I simply mix some cool tap water in after boiling to bring down the temperature, then steep. I get three infusions from every 2 tsp aliquot, with later infusions steeping for over 3 minutes.Never mind about all the broken leaves and stems rubbish. This is very good tasting gunpowder tea for the price.
5.0 out of 5 stars Just what I was hoping for
The product is great.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very good tea
Very good tea and a little goes along way. I have it hot and cold. Take it unaltered or with lemon and cold on hot days. I could find no fault with package as it is even reusable for other things. Warmth is a very esoteric word to use for describing tea so take it with a grain of salt. Flavor would be subjective without some context. I do enjoy this tea. I drink it daily and will buy it again. The perfect warmth and flavor I hope is yet to come for me so this tea gets a solid four for both. Maybe if it was reusable I would give it a fifth star.
5.0 out of 5 stars This tea tastes great. I am a huge fan of Starwest Botanical ...
This tea tastes great. I am a huge fan of Starwest Botanical products in general. I've been buying them for years. I'm glad I took the chance on them some years back because these products always arrive very fresh in these silver bags. I almost didn't take that chance to begin with because the packaging looked too simple. I suspect that because this company doesn't use fancy printed packaging that this could be part of the reason they are willing to offer excellent prices .This is a great deal for tea drinkers. Much more economical than tea bags. Right now I've probably got about 12 partial bags remaining of various Starwest Botanical products - teas, spices, herbs etc.. some of which I've had a few years and they are all still fresh tasting. I have a cupboard full of mason jars and I just refill them from the bags when needed.
Nicely packed, tastes just like a good rooibos tea.
Enjoy this none caffeinated tea, tastes great.
I love tea and this is excellent. Great flavour and smell.
Loose tea is the best tea!
Bon goût
Bon goût!
It's a good base.
The flavor profile is okay. Needs alot of other additives ( I did lavender, cinnamon, sorrel, coconut and apple) to make it tasty
