5.0 out of 5 stars Finally -- I can flip my eggs!
Background:Ever since my Calphalon Unison 8" bit the dust (after 10 years), I've been trying to find a fry pan that makes flipping eggs easy -- just big enough to flip eggs without tearing the yokes open. But they just don't seem to make an 8" pan with a rounded/smooth interior anymore. (Calphalon no longer makes the Unison. My Tramontina, a NY Times "best pick", is shown in the photo.) Although the pan is 'officially' 8" wide, that measurement includes the walls of the pan. The physical interior is only 5-1/2" wide, making it difficult to slide a larger spatula completely under the eggs. (Because I cook two eggs at a time, I use a DiOro silicone pancake turner. Also highly recommended.)I decided that I could solve my problem with a 9" pan, but found that size hard to come by. I went all out and paid more than $100 (sale price) for an All-Clad D5 Stainless 9" (now discontinued). Despite the fact that I followed all the recommended guidelines for use, imagine how dismayed I was to discover that my eggs always stuck to the pan! (All-Clad was of no help at all.)Review:After all of the above, I bought this Cuisinart. Bingo! My eggs now flip easily without sticking, and no shredded yokes. Perfect fried eggs every time. Life is good! I highly recommend this pan.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent skillet
Excellent quality for the price.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great 9-inch Pan
This is a sturdy, well constructed pan. It's great for 2-person meals and scrambling eggs. It is also easy to clean.
4.0 out of 5 stars A nice pan but not a Great one!
I always felt the 10" pan was too big and 8" pan too small to cook 2 eggs. Maybe I'm weird but I decided to see if anyone made a 9" pan. And so I found Cuisinart did. The pan itself is OK but the side walls are a bit shallow, not as high as I would have liked, and I wish the handle was a bit sturdier. Those 2 issues take away from it's overall rating. It works fine as far as cooking with it and it cleans very easily so the non-stick surface does what it's meant to do. No problems there! Just those 2 minor issues.
5.0 out of 5 stars The right size pan
With just two of us to cook for, a 10 or 12-inch pan is just too big for scrambled eggs for two or two burgers, but the 8-inch pan is too small. I looked all over for a 9-inch pan, and this is the only one I found. I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be a solid, sturdy pan that looks like it will be quite usable for years to come. I am happy with my purchase - both size and quality.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Eggs
I bought this because the size was recommended in a recipe for scrambled eggs.Upon first use, I found it was slow to heat on my electric class-top range but, ultimately, low and slow makes eggs less rubbery and they turned out great.I later used it for pan frying steak and it gave a nice sear without overcooking the inside of the meat.I may have finally found a great pan for my stove.
5.0 out of 5 stars Size just right for one person
First one I bought very shortly formed a bare spot in the bottom. I liked the size in particular and the shape I bought another exact duplicate and have had no problems. The inside of the pan is like new so far with no scratches or bare spots after using it every morning for breakfeast for months. Good value.
5.0 out of 5 stars Non stick is great - perfect size too
need a new one of these every so often and this one is holding up well with lots of use so far (granted just a couple months). thanks for what appears to be a good product, just the right size for our morning eggs or a quick side dish at lunch/dinner.
Recomendado!
