You can't do jewelry work without one of these. It keeps the beads, needles and other pieces from moving around, so your work goes faster and is more orderly. Cleanup is easy too - I use a spoon to pick up loose beads and the furry surface holds the beads up while the spoon easily depresses the fur so the beads just roll right in. They can be washed and, as use takes its toll on the surface, you can just flip it over for a new surface. Having several is nice as I love to invite others to join me and make something.

I'm not sure what these mats are made of, but they work very well to control the tiny beads I was working with.The mats are thin and can be folded to fit into a storage box. They are also easy to cut with ordinary scissors if you want to fit them into the bottom of a tray you use to contain the beads while you work.Honestly, not terribly impressive when you first see them, but they work a charm and are very good value.

It was time for new bead mats - mine were over 20 yrs old (!) and falling apart. These are fresh and new and exactly what I needed. The colors aren't my thing but the beads show up well on them and for the price I wasn't going to be picky. Here's go another 20 years of use!

These are an absolute must especially for beginner beaders. Prevents beads from rolling off table/desk. I just wish they didn't come all wrinkled and folded.
