5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I was looking for my PC
UPdate:I have to stand up and down multiple times during the day (I work from home) due to my back problem and this desk was a perfect solution. It's been a month since I start using this as my computer desk. I am using this table up/down at least 10x + day (much often than people who buys this kind of table) with 30 lbs equipment on the top and it is still working well. It's easy to move it up and down as I needed. Very solid construction.I have very bad back problem and I have to stand up from the chair often while I am working. But, sitting down and standing up constantly every hour or so working on PC that are stationed on the regular desk isn't the best situation. While standing up, my back feels better, but looking down on monitor and type while standing up position quickly lead my carpal to flare up and start to have neck pain. One push button ergo-desk would have been the best choice, but cost of those types of desk is over $1000.00 at the cheapest. So, I had to come up with something that would work for my situation without paying too much money. While I was searching for a desk that can easily move up and down I found this table. I look over the description and the size of this table would work for my 'All in one PC" . High rating of the review also help me to purchase this table. But, I wasn't sure if it would really work for my situation. The below, I list my review on this table.1) It's surprisingly well made desk for the price: I honestly didn't expect it to be study enough to hold my PC and still able to move up/down easily whenever I need to stand up.2) The powder coded heavy gauge gun metal base looks very attractive too.3) Very affordable: Cost under $50.00 is big plus. I would have paid more even if I saw this at the store.4) Putting it together: It's very easy and almost doesn't need to read the instruction, But, I suggest you read the instruction first before start to put it together. There is a screw that you SHOULD NOT remove and it marked clearly with removable label. Also, it indicated on the instruction for this. So, it's good idea to skim through the instruction how to put together.5) Moving up/down: It's very easy. It springs up very easily and push down with one hand while the other hand control the lever on the side. It wouldn't be an issue if you are using this table as intended. However, if you are using it like I am, as regular desk for All in one PC (heavy - over 25 lbs), You will need a little more effort to pulling the desk up since what is on the top of the table will be heavier than just food tray or laptop. While holding the lever, other hand should help along to bring the table up. Then, release the lever to lock the table's heights BEFORE both hands off from the table. You have to support the weight until height of the table locks.6) Surface area: This table top size is approx 15" x 30", so it would accommodate large laptop or food tray.7) Table top is made out of pressed board - MDF- and it's about 1" thick cover with some types of plastic material to wipe the table without damaging the base material. If you are using it as intended for the item (food tray/laptop/books), it wouldn't be an issue. Perfect as is. For me, using this table as mobile work station to hold my All in Once PC, which is much heavier and larger than the laptop, I wanted a little more heavy duty wood that can support my PC. So, I didn't use the tabletop that came with the kit. Instead, I cut plywood (same thickness/size as original piece) and attach it to the table. I also drill the 2" hole on the table for the wires/cords, so all electrical cords can be tucked under the table neatly and I gather it all tied to the metal stand.8) Wheels: It has 2 locking wheels and 2 regular wheels, but it doesn't stand balanced on carpet. So, I put wheel cup under each wheels and now it doesn't move and table stands firmly on the floor. It's works perfectly for me. If this table would last only a year, I would still buy same table again and use it same way describe above. For the price, you can't go wrong. But, I think this table would last long time. And now, I can get up when my back is hurting by sitting on the chair too long, I just pull up the table all the way and working standing up. When my back feels better, I simply bring the table to my desk level and working sitting down. It's that easy!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great product
For the our e its a great table. Very sturdy and can easily hold a laptop and a mouse and iPad. Only issue was the push rod hole was way to big and the rod keeps rattling every time you slightly move the desk. Quick trip to the hardware store I installed a grommet and rattling is gone. Would recommend with suggestion to get a grommet to fix rod rattle.
4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect extra table EXCEPT arrived damaged
Only 4 stars because of flaw. Love everything about this table, it’s my second one! EXCEPT the top was damaged when it arrived and didn’t realize it until it was all put together after we flipped it over to remove the black screw. Super bummed. I planned to use this as a dinner tray for my aging parent who can no longer sit at a table. This flaw hits right at his belly and will snag his shirt. My first one I use as a rolling desk for my computer and work tools. Often also as an additional table for glasses during dinner parties. It’s sturdy and rolls nicely. About 20-25 min to assemble.
5.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy
Wasn’t to hard to assemble. Nice and sturdy. Adjustable height. Seems natural to pick the thing up by the tray but that does raise the height. Wheels work on the plush carpet I’m using it on.
5.0 out of 5 stars Must assemble precisely to directions.
Very sturdy, well worth it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice table
Table is good, a little difficult to assemble but after a few minor problems got it together. Works great for my husband in hospital bed.
3.0 out of 5 stars Functional Yet Flawed ♿: My Drive Medical Overbed Table Experience
After my ankle surgery, I was dreading the weeks of recovery ahead, confined to my bed with limited mobility. Thankfully, the Drive Medical Adjustable Non Tilt Top Overbed Table became an unexpected ally, providing a much-needed surface for meals, work, and entertainment. However, it wasn't without its quirks. The Good: Secure and Stable (Mostly): The walnut, wood grain laminate top is aesthetically pleasing and usually locks securely when the height adjustment handle is released. This feature has been great for keeping my items steady, except for one time when my water bottle tipped over because I bumped the table a little too hard. Easy Maneuverability (Sometimes): The H-style base with 2-inch swivel casters allows for easy movement, especially on carpet. I could easily glide it to my bedside for meals or wheel it into the living room for a change of scenery. However, on my hardwood floors, the wheels don't always roll smoothly, making it a bit of a struggle at times. Adjustable Desk: The table can be raised or lowered in infinite positions between 28 and 45 inches, making it incredibly versatile for different uses. I've comfortably used it for eating, working on my laptop, and even playing board games with my family. Sturdy Build (Up to a Point): With a weight capacity of 40 lbs, it can hold various items without issue. I've had up to 30 lbs of equipment on it, and it remains stable. However, some of the plastic components feel a bit flimsy, and I worry about their long-term durability.Drawbacks: Height Adjustment: The table lifts up way too easily! It's like it's just waiting to tip over. I've learned to be extra careful, especially when I have my laptop on it. One accidental bump, and my work goes flying. Inconsistent Rollability: As I mentioned, the table rolls smoothly on carpet, but it's a different story on hardwood. The wheels tend to get stuck, making it difficult to move around without scratching the floor.Additional Considerations: Assembly Woes: Be prepared for an unexpected trip to the hardware store! The table requires a 16mm combination wrench for assembly, which isn't included.Final Thoughts:The Drive Medical Overbed Table was a lifesaver during my recovery, providing a much-needed surface for daily activities. Its adjustability and maneuverability (on carpet, at least) were key. However, the overly sensitive height adjustment and inconsistent rolling on different surfaces are frustrating flaws. If you're looking for an affordable and versatile overbed table, this one could work, but be aware of its quirks and consider the added cost of a wrench for assembly.
