In 1930, at the impressionable age of ten, Mario Foah tied on an apron and began awaiting his mother in the kitchen of their home in Naples, Italy. The oldest of five children, he loved to cook for his younger siblings. His love of the kitchen became a lifelong passion. Many years later after he moved to New York, Mario dreamed of bringing the kind of meals his mother cooked to a much larger audience. He started his own company, and chose AMORE as the brand name because, “Love is universal and nobody is against it.” Mario returned to Italy often in search of great products and in 1978 discovered concentrated paste tubes made from fresh Italian ingredients. Having seen nothing like it in the USA, he knew that it was exactly the type of product that he could be proud to sell.

It’s delicious! The closest thing I can compare it to is Calabrian chili. This is hotter and doesn’t have the almost citrusy notes, but it’s great. This paste is thin, for a paste. It’s not runny, but certainly thinner than tomato paste. I used it with Turkish pepper paste, garlic, caramelized purple onion and olive oil to make a blended, spicy drizzle for kofteh. It gave heat and a noticeable, bright chili flavor to the sauce. I’m looking forward to trying it in other dishes.

This pesto is perfect for vegan use. I am not a vegan, but I do not eat cheese and most packaged pesto has cheese in it. I haven't found any in the stores that are dairy-free. I usually make my own, but I don't always have fresh ingredients on hand, so this is a very good substitute. The taste is pretty good. It's not as strong as its fresh counterpart, but it's good. The overall look is not super appealing - it is a pale olive green lumpy paste, but I'm not complaining. I love to add toasted almonds along with this pesto - delicious!

I could not find sun-dried tomato paste locally, so turned to Bolo. Of course it arrived quickly and I was able to add it to the recipe I was making. It was exactly what I needed and the recipe tasted great.

Great product for anyone who likes pesto
Great product, good taste and the remaining pesto does not go bad quickly due to it being in a tube. I especially like the fact that since I cannot have lactose this is a great alternative since I like pesto.
