About this item:
Support your dog’s liver health with VetriScience SAMe Liver Health (new name, same great Vetri SAMe 225), a vet-formulated liver supplement for dogs that supports optimal liver function, detoxification, and cognitive well-being. Each tablet contains 225 mg of SAMe (S-Adenosyl-Methionine) plus glutathione, a powerful antioxidant that is essential for detoxifying the liver and protecting liver cells. While SAMe is most often recommended for liver health support, studies show that SAMe may also support cognitive abilities in senior or geriatric dogs, promote a better mood in dogs with chronic anxiety, and even support joint comfort. SAMe Liver Health 225 mg is formulated for medium to large breed dogs to support healthy liver enzyme levels, promote cell regeneration, and encourage balanced oxidative activity. For smaller dogs and cats, SAMe Liver Health is available in a 90 mg dose. This dog liver supplement is designed for maximum absorption with an enteric coating that shields the tablet from stomach acid, ensuring it reaches the small intestine for effective nutrient delivery. For best results, give SAMe Liver Health on an empty stomach in the morning before breakfast or at least 2 hours after a meal. If your dog prefers soft chews, will not swallow pills, or cannot take SAMe for any reason, VetriScience Liver Health offers a milk-thistle-based alternative with antioxidants like turmeric for liver support without the need for fasting. Backed by veterinary science, SAMe supplements for dogs provide long-term liver support you can trust.

5.0 out of 5 stars Keeping my 16-year old pup healthy!
These liver supplements were recommended by my vet when my 16-year old Jack Russell was showing his age. He’s been taking them for well over a year and they seem to be helping. These pills are pretty large and if he manages to chew one open he immediately spits it out. So I highly recommend covering it in peanut butter. Works like a charm!
5.0 out of 5 stars It works!
I was using their chewable supplements daily. They were not lowering the liver values to where they should be so we started giving her these in addition. Our pup is 13 pounds and eight years old. We give her half a tablet a day, as well as half a chewable. Together they are doing the trick. We are so thankful.
5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to dispense, fair price
On our vet's recommendation, this medicine is to replace a prescription medicine he has not been able to restock for whatever reason. This medication is vital to her health and the 90 mg SAMe is exactly what the vet was prescribing for my 6 pound chihuahua. The 10 count blister packs makes it easy to dispense in exactly the same way. She will go back for blood tests in a couple of months but finding this med is literally a life saver for her.
4.0 out of 5 stars For those who think its too large pill for cat...
At first, i almost returned as i thought it was too large of a pill for my 10lb cat...i was scared at first...was ready for cat cpr just in case...BUT, he swallowed it like a champ! No issues. This was our first dose so i hope it works. I had a cat on a different brand yrs ago and it saved her life. Only thing i did do was have a 5ml syringe with water ready. I gently squeezed that in right after pill to help it go down. I will update review in a few weeks...hopefully it helps.
5.0 out of 5 stars The product was beneficial for my dog
Supplement for my dog
5.0 out of 5 stars It Works!
I opted to use this with the milk thistle instead of the alternative and it worked great. Because the tablet was too hard for my dog, I did ended up having to crush it which was still effective.
5.0 out of 5 stars It worked! Normal liver enzymes after one month!!!
I did some online research about liver issues for dogs because my 16 year old Dalmation's ALT was literally off the charts, like 1000 when it was supposed to be 10-125. I found a paper that recommended SAMe, milk thistle and Vitamin E. I order the SAMe and he has been taking it as prescribed on the package for 30 days. Today, his ALT enzyme was 121 and GGT was 4. I am VERY satisfied!
1.0 out of 5 stars Red #40 not safe for dogs.
When I purchased the product, I only looked at the active ingredients, but upon receiving the box, I noticed that the inactive ingredients contains red #40. This food dye is not only unnecessary, but it is NOT safe for dogs.Red 40 can trigger allergic reactions in some dogs, leading to skin rashes, itching, and vomiting. It can cause hyperactivity and with prolonged use it has even been linked to cancer. No thanks! Returned.
