5.0 out of 5 stars These things work great for your wandering presentation needs. 5 stars!
There are a lot of remote presenter and PowerPoint clickers out there, but for lots of things like this (wireless laptop accessories - mouse/keyboard combos, remote presenters, USB cameras, etc.), Logitech is my go-to vendor. I have been disappointed by other vendors over the years, but so far, never disappointed with Logitech kit.And so this nice little easy to use, palm-sized presenter remote has proven. It does everything I need - forward, backward, and "return focus to PowerPoint" buttons all work as expected. My cat loves the laser pointer, and is writing his own review that you should ignore because he does eventually get frustrated with that damned dot that he can't catch.Sometimes the laser pointer works for presenting, mostly it does not these days, due to either a glass screen on large TVs in use today, or one-way screens for rear projection that the laser does not show up on... but none of that's a ding on the presenter remote, which projects a very nice laser beam. It's more a commentary on our need to be flexible when traveling and presenting in various environments.I have walked 30-40 feet away from the laptop doing presentations, and had no issues with advancing my slides. I can't really imagine getting much further from the laptop and screen, and not losing my audience, so as far as I'm concerned, this has all the distance I'll ever need. I can't advise on the max distance, since I'll never go looking for those limits, but it's lots further than 40 feet.Lastly, this is a very pleasant device to hold and use, in an ergonomic sense. It is extremely well-designed for the human hand, and I would say for any size of human hand. Many of these I've owned and used as loaners from various venues are straight tube shapes, cylindrical, longer than necessary, slightly unwieldy and awkward feeling in your hand. This one - from the first second, it was comfortable and the buttons are just where they should be for easy, intuitive use. Exactly what I wanted, and what I've come to expect from Logitech - my go-to for stuff like this. FIVE STARS, no dings, all good, highly recommended.Boot-note: this one has no timer function. Logitech makes a couple with that feature, but I don't find it useful and don't want to pay $20 extra for a feature I don't need. Your call entirely which way to go on that consideration, but I'm extremely pleased with my choice and my new toy.
5.0 out of 5 stars A Presentation remote with very nice features
I've been using a simple third-party presenter that is less than a fifth of the price of the R800. However, I wanted to get a proper reputed product with better features and something that would give me peace of mind on the day of the presentation knowing that it will work properly or the battery is strong enough for the laser to be bright.I've looked at a few other competing products in the market and saw that the R800 has some great features and albeit the high price tag. The price is justified the moment you start using the it. I considered the R400 as an alternative and decided the R800 is worth the additional pay to get the timer and alert features especially since most of my presentations are under 30 minutes, thus timing being crucial. I'm a Linux user and wanted something that will work out-of-box with it and R800 lived up to my expectations. Nothing else other than connecting the received to a USB port was needed for it to work. All the buttons works with Linux and some may depend on what application you use with it.I've used the R800 so far for 2 presentations (and at practice) and it worked out really well. Albeit people reporting problems with the button layout on the remote, I've had no problems with using the buttons or accidentally pressing the wrong one. The green laser is bright enough to be clearly visible with even lights on. The nicest feature on the device for me is the timer and the vibrating alerts that you get at 5 minutes, 2 minutes and 0 minutes to the end of the presentation. The device itself is very ergonomic and fits well on your palm. It has a nice soft touch to its feel and doesn't slip off the hand easily. The remaining-time and battery indicator is clear and intuitive. As some people point out, it would be nice to have the display illuminate (on-demand, which is my preference). The product also comes with a nice protective pouch to store the device in.As with any product, there's always something someone would find as a possible improvement. Here's what I'd like to see.*) Illuminated display. On-demand in my case, as I think constant illumination may act as a distraction to the audience.*) The count-down timer once started, can only be paused, but not restarted. The only way I found to restart it, is to reset the timer to the duration and start all over again. This feature will be useful when you practice a presentation and you want to start again at some point.*) A timer only works as a count-down timer. It only counts-up at the end of a presentation. It would be nice to have a mode where the timer works as a count-up timer as well (without any alerts) just so that you can get a feel of how long something takes.*) With such a big receiver being used, maybe a nice feature might be to have some solid-state storage in it as well so that the presentation can be carried together with the device*) I use other Logitech products, therefore it would be nice if this worked with a unifying receiver. However, it has great has some great features already built-in to it and anyone would definitely find it quite useful.
Awesome remote
These just work fantastic, have a laser pointer, are great on battery life, and just work! I have three now... I recommend the green laser as it is easier to see. Highly recommended.
Recomendo.
Produto leve e de fácil manuseio. Torna mais dinâmica e eficiente as apresentações. Recomendo.
Plug and Play
3 buttons (laser, forward, and backward). Comes with a Duracell battery inside. Worked well without any flaw.
So good

Nice Product
When these devices come, they don’t come with batteries, but the seller provided some of the best batteries out there. My only complaint is that the product page should’ve mentioned that it’s a battery based and not chargeable appliance. Otherwise I highly recommend it for any presentation you will/have.
