Me: Dad with 10 y/o son in little league. Not an expert.I was lucky enough to have a Johnny Bench Batter's Up batting trainer when I was a kid (1970's). Simple concept: Ball attached to flexible pole that spins around an anchored post when the ball is hit. It was low-tech but was a blast and durable. This product, Derek Jeter Hurricane, is a modern, higher-end interpretation of the Johnny Bench unit.I held off purchasing as I found it hard to bring myself to spend $200 as I wasn't sure if it was needed or worth the price. But my son is loving his first year of baseball and is putting in the practice time. His batting is currently the weakest part of his game so I ordered the unit. It arrived in about 10 days using the free shipping.* Assembly *When it arrived I had my son do the assembly. He was initially intimidated but I pointed out that it only had a dozen or so parts -- far less than the Lego structures he's built. 30 minutes later he had it all together and was swinging away.* Quality *It's definitely a solid unit with a heavy base. We use it primarily on the driveway with no anchors. It stays in place un-anchored unless a large, strong person blasts full-might. It does have a simple and effective anchor system for the yard which we've also used.* Usability *The best part of such a tool is its "patience." Hit after hit, it returns the ball to the strike zone without complaint. My son has been able to develop his eye and work on solidly connecting with the ball. It's easy for a big person to haul it and out of the garage.* Conclusion *Sure, we'd still love to get a $1,500 pitching machine, cage, etc. But this is definitely a great value if you view it as a self-setting ball tee with some ball motion.

I just ordered this for my daughter’s first juniors season. I haven’t used it yet so I will update after about a week of use but so far, each piece came well wrapped in bubble wrap, cardboard and zip ties. It took me about 10 minutes to assemble it was really easy and the instructions were well written and illustrated. The actual product seems extremely sturdy and durable - the locking knobs are plastic and the main frame is steel. The only downfall so far is that the bag is fairly thin for the weight and variation of pieces and it came with a hole torn in it - it’s an easy fix with duct tape or a patch but it could definitely benefit from being slightly more durable fabric. It also comes with an internal pocket for the ground stakes which is cool. Overall - 10/10 for the product, 8/10 for the bag it comes with.

Only reason I rated this 4 stars instead of 5 is the knob handle was broke straight from the box. Also the box shows a home plate that is not accounted for. Those are my only complaints. Works good. A good bating training workout for the kids.

The media could not be loaded. I’m a kid who loves baseball and is always looking to get better. A while back my friend texted me saying he got a new swing trainer and it was this one by SKLZ. I decided to save up some money and buy this trainer (best purchase I’ve made in a long time) and it arrived in 3 days!! (Thanks Bolo) Anyways when it arrived it came in a nice carrying bag and was a breeze to put together. When together this thing is sweet it is so much easier than a normal tee. I recommend you buy this product it is very good for baseball/softball training.
Train to be a slugger
I coach U9 softball and this has been a game changer for my team. We’ve only had it for a few practices, but the girls development and coordination has improved tremendously. They’re catching on so fast - I wish I had bought this sooner.This hitting trainer is great. It is very durable and heavy. Everything is made well and strong. This will last!!!! Even with 9 year olds beating the heck out of it. LolI’ve included pictures of the set up process. It is really slick and easy. I had it put together in under 10 minutes. Tear down was even faster. Plus everything fits in a nice black zippered bag - which is heavy when filled but doesn’t feel like it will rip easily.This is definitely worth the money!!

Excellent product
This has been such a game changer for our baseball team and my son. I love that we do not need to set up the tee constantly and that we do not have to chase balls that miss the net and veer off. Kids can practice their swings repetedely with no need to stop and collect all materials. It is adjustable and can grow with your player and you can rotate the top to practice eye -hand coordination swinging practice.

Very sturdy and easy to set up
Got this for my daughter to practice batting. We don't have much space to practice so this works perfectly in our small yard. Very easy to take down and set up but very heavy to carry back and forth to ball diamonds. Recommend a portable wagon if you plan to transport any distance.
