Our Organic Acid Technology (OAT) is charged with special inhibitors to help extend the longevity of your engine by protecting internal parts from pitting, cavitation, corrosion and hard-water scale deposits. Developed with the highest-quality virgin ethylene glycol, it’s able to prevent freezes and boil-overs. And it’s guaranteed to perform for up to 3 years, 30,000 miles or 7,000 hours of operation with no supplemental coolant additives required when used in conformity with package and label instructions and specifications. 5.0 out of 5 stars Great Diesel Coolant and Cheaper by the Case (Way to go Amazon)
While preparing to do a Radiator Flush on my '03 Ford Power-stroke 6.0 Diesel, I looked high and low for the specialized Coolant formulated for Diesel Engines and Cast Iron Blocks. I didn't want the premixed stuff so many companies are now only offering. I prefer to mix my own, that way I know what I'm putting in my expensive Diesel motor. It seems companies are offering premixed coolant only to make more money from us, the customer. After all, do you really know what mixture you are getting? When I mix my own making a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and distilled water, I know I am getting exactly that. And because the straight stuff is only a couple dollars more than the premix, you are getting way more for your money. Coolant of any type is not cheap by no means anyway, why pay what comes out as $4-5 per gallon for distilled water that you can buy for as little as .89 cents at the local market. In the long run, you make out better buying and mixing your own anti-freeze coolant. Plus when you buy in by the case, you have plenty left over for another flush years down the road. This Zerex is made for Diesel engines and certified by CAT EC-1, which regardless of color, if your coolant is going into your Diesel Engine, it better say CAT EC-1 somewhere on the bottle or don't use it in your 20k motor.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great in my 6.0 powerstroke.
Replaced the factory Ford Gold with this for my 2004 F-350 6.0 Powerstroke. This coolant is silicate free and will not take out your oil cooler over time. Ford Gold and other antifreeze types with silicates in the formula will eventually break down over time and clog the oil cooler which in turn takes out the EGR cooler due to coolant starvation. CAT EC-1 rated coolant is the only stuff that I will put in a 6.0. Bypass coolant filters will only filter very small amounts at a time and are not the proper fix for preventing clogged oil coolers. It's all about doing a thorough flush (pulling block drains) and forcing all the coolant and debris out of THE ENTIRE cooling system multiple times with hot water. Once complete, add CAT EC-1 rated coolant to ensure a healthy cooling system. If not pre diluted, only dilute with distilled water. This stuff does not specifically say on the jug that it is CAT EC-1 rated but look up the specs online...it is.
