5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect starter set for preschoolers
This science set was lots of fun for my daycare kiddos. All of the instruments are just the right size for them to hold and manipulate and see through. They fight over the goggles, which are nicely designed for younger kids, durable and comfortable to wear. The surprise hit of the show was the dropper, which really is great for sucking up liquids and squirting them back out again. :)We actually already had a Learning Resources magnifying glass, and while there are many things the kids love about it - the size and weight and the little stand appeal -- unfortunately we haven't found ours (either of them) to work well. You can't really see anything through them. It's not a high-quality lens, at all. (It does stand up to two toddler boys using it as a baseball bat, though. But we couldn't see through it even prior to that, um, incident.)There is a nice set of ten laminated cards with experiments on them, but I'm honestly not sure how much value they add to the set. For one thing, the experiments are so simple (mixing food coloring, putting raisins in soda, dropping insects into the test tubes to observe them, growing plants in the test tube, mixing baking soda and vinegar to make a volcano, mixing colored water and vegetable oil) that you don't really need the cards to be able to perform them, and once you've done the experiments once, the cards are a little obsolete. We did most of the interesting experiments in a single afternoon, although the kids are all happy to repeat them and make up their own whenever I take out the large plastic tub where I've stored the kit and assorted supplies (food coloring, raisins, a can of soda, a bottle of vinegar, a box of baking soda - you will want some of this stuff on hand when the kit arrives.)Definitely a fun introduction to science.
5.0 out of 5 stars Cute and educational!
My toddler loved these easy to follow science experiments!! Highly suggest getting this. The instruction cards have pictures of the items to use and very toddler friendly sized science products!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great way to introduce your toddler to science
I like this set so much that it's now a go-to gift for friends. I've bought several science-based sets for kids and this is one of the best. It's really good for very young kids (2-3 yrs.) in that the plastic is thick and tough, and the flask and tubes are very big compared to other sets-good for small hands, tougher to knock over. It comes with a set of goggles that are really pretty good quality. I have to admit that I steal them out of the kit to protect my eyes when I cut onions now. The experiment cards included in the kit are very easy to read, and very simple to practice with your small child.I'd warn that the tweezers are pretty useless. They're too big to get into the tubes and too dull for actually grabbing things, but it's really not a big deal. I think the thing my 2 1/2 year old liked most was the color mixing and dumping water from one tube to another. Even for a substantial period of time after our water had turned black.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great for the budding scientist
Got this kit for my 6 year old niece who recently decided that she was "interested in science". This plus a child-sized white lab coat, and she was in seventh heaven.A cute little set of laboratory items that include: safety goggles; magnifying glass; flask; beaker; 2 short test tubes in a rack; one tall test tube in a rack; eyedropper; tweezers; all items are plastic, and the test tubes have lids. The pieces are colorful and functional. There are also 10 index cards with various experiments to do.The reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is that the actual "chemicals" needed for the experiments are not supplied. These are mostly common household items or easily obtained at a supermarket, but I remember the frustration I had as a child upon getting a gift that I couldn't use until I could get mom to go to the store and get the rest of the stuff needed. I solved that problem by contacting the maker, and then gave me a list of the materials required, and I put together a little package of "supplies" that I sent along with the lab kit. These include things like: lemon juice; vinegar; cooking oil; baking soda; vanilla extract; perfume; club soda; tarnished pennies; various small items like small stones, toothpicks, and corks; a variety of garden seeds; and dirt.Well, the niece was doubly delighted to receive a second package with the supplies, so maybe it's not a bad idea to keep these things separate, at that.Either way, great toy for a 4-7 year old who want's to do "science", but might not know quite know exactly what that is.

My daughter loves this! We’ve done several experiments. Highly recommend!
5.0 out of 5 stars My little scientist
My 5yo daughters enjoy making up experiments! This kit has gotten them more interested in the concepts of weight (sink or float), of observing similarities and differences, and has become our go-to activity set. Good quality, lots of suggestions, easy to do experiments. Love it!
5.0 out of 5 stars Educational and fun!
This is such a fun & educational science set. It includes the “lab equipment” you’ll need for the experiments, and there is a set of large cards in the set with detailed instructions for conducting simple experiments. It’s a great way to introduce little children to science. My little 3 year old granddaughter loves this set! She was thrilled to wear the safety glasses (!), and insisted on repeating the volcano experiment at least 8 times as soon as we opened this set!
Versatility
Best purchase! Our daughter loves to play with this set, and so versatile
