About this item:
Baby cats grow so quickly that their nutritional needs also change. A mother cat’s milk has protective antibodies to support her kitten’s natural defenses. But as a baby cat transitions to eating solids, their immune systems are still developing. This “immunity gap” leaves a kitten in a fragile state. With growing bones, emerging teeth, and developing immune and digestive systems, they can benefit from nutrition formulated for healthy growth. Your kitten is a kitten for 12 months, no matter their size. Keeping them on this formula for months 1 to 4 starting during weaning helps set up a healthy foundation for kittenhood. Royal Canin Mother & Babycat Ultra-Soft Mousse in Sauce feeds your young kitten’s magnificence from the very start with the building blocks needed for healthy growth: This baby cat food is a tailor-made nutritional solution that supports the high energy needs of queen cats at the end of gestation and during lactation, and the development of newborn kittens during the first stage of growth. Clinically proven antioxidants, including vitamins E and C, help support the healthy development of immune systems. The canned kitten food ultra-soft mousse texture facilitates the transition from milk to solid food for newborn kittens and their baby teeth. Plus, a combination of prebiotics and highly digestible proteins helps promote a healthy balance of intestinal microbiota for digestive health. Feed this formula for months 1 to 4, then switch your kitten to Royal Canin Feline Health Nutrition Kitten food for continued healthy growth. With over 50 years of scientific research and observation, Royal Canin continues to deliver targeted nutrition to feed every pet’s magnificence. Not satisfied? Then neither are we. 5.0 out of 5 stars Good
Good product for a mama and Kittens. However, when it was delivered, the package was broken. Cans were fine. It is definitely pricey.
5.0 out of 5 stars Catlin LOVES it!!
Perfect portion size. Speedy delivery! Texture, smell and softness are just right for our adopted kitten. Quality ingredients! We will continue with the Royal Canine brand as she graduates to adulthood 😀
5.0 out of 5 stars Kitties love it
Our rescue kittens love it. It is wet enough to provide much needed fluids. They seem to enjoy the taste. After a few weeks their coats are so much softer, shinier and better color. We didn’t get any transition issues going from the shelter food to this.
5.0 out of 5 stars Highly nutritious food for kittens and their mothers.
Over the course of the last several years, several of my girls have had litters of kittens. I have also fostered pregnant cats. It is imperative that kittens, as well as pregnant, and new mother cats, receive proper nutrition.I feed Royal Canin Mother & Babycat, to all litters of kittens, and to their mothers. It is great for their brains, bodies, and coats. I also feed it to pregnant cats to help with the prenatal development of their litter, as well as to ensure that the soon-to-be mother cat is receiving all of the nutrition that she needs. A pregnant cat is eating for more than one, and in most cases, she is eating for an additional five to six babies.Mother & Babycat is an ultra-soft mousse that kittens, and adults, love. The texture is very appealing to kittens as they develop their preferences for textures, and flavours, of food. It is very easy to digest. It provides essential nutrients that developing kittens need. One can begin using Mother & Babycat once the kittens begin to wean, at about one month to two months of age, depending on the kittens. I feed the mousse in combination to the dry food. A weaning kitten will continue to nurse its mother, even up to six months of age. The act of nursing is calming to kittens, even if the mother cat is no longer producing milk. Generally, most kittens are fully weaned by two-and-a-half to three months of age, but some continue to nurse for several more months. While this is normal, the weaning time is generally shortened when the nutritional value of the cat food is good.Royal Canin is an excellent brand of food for cats. I highly recommend it. I also recommend purchasing it from Bolo. Because Royal Canin is quality cat food, and not toxic junk, it is, in my opinion, very expensive cat food. With Bolo, the pricing is fair, there are always sales and special deals on pet foods, and with Subscribe and Save, one saves even more money with regular deliveries.I have paid as much as $21.99 + tax, for this 12 pack of canned food, when purchasing it in various pet stores. With Bolo, I have never paid more than $17. Bolo offers an excellent value for the money, and it is money well spent.I am no longer using the Mother & Babycat, at this time, because the cats that I have have grown past the age where it is necessary. I have switched to them to different food. However, if and when I have another pregnant cat, or litter of kittens: I will begin using it again. I swear by it.

So far sooo great!!! A rescue kitten, at only 3 1/2 weeks old, came into my life just over 1 month ago. While I was looking to adopt a rescue, it seemed like many of the rescue agencies used & suggested a certain brand, even at so young. I was rather surprised. I did not find my little girl from a typical rescue agency, so I was asking around, a lot!! The “cat expert” at a Petsmart I went to, had mentioned that this SUPER wealthy family in Newport ONLY feed their animals this brand. I thought, of course a wealthy family goes for the priciest food, right? So, after passing on the Royal Canin the 1st time, thinking Petsmart was just trying to up-sell me, I started doing more research. Then, I finally tried a few cans of the BABYCAT Instinctive. Kitten was at the “weaning formula” stage at this point, and, great advertising/lingo of the health benefits or not, she not only immediately took to it, but her coat seemed to become healthier; so shiny in just 2 days!! Since then, I have attempted 2 other brands — understanding that changing food brands can cause some tummy upset the first couple of day. I tried to do a 1/2 & 1/2 cross-over, twice. While she’d eat it, it seemed very clear that the change was not pleasant for her or myself!! Oh!! The smells of the other 2 brands were NOT fun (fresh out of the can, or at the other end!). I get it. Even if it smells bad to us, if it’s good for her, it’s worth it. I just haven’t been able to find ANY other brand that she loves so much!! Beyond the ingredients that give me peace of mind, it really seems to make her coat shine, and she smells so good!! Most kittens/cats will have that cat smell. She actually smells good!! I can’t explain it. Also, her “business” is far less stinky than with the other brands I tried (yes, she’s completely off the weaning formula already). Pros: Ingredients, SMELL, kitten loves it, & it truly does feel like I’m giving her the best possible nutrition, especially being that she so obviously didn’t have mother’s milk for anywhere near long enough. Cons: Cost$$. I felt like it was going to hurt. I FELT like I was being suckered into giving my kitten what this ultra wealthy fam fed their animals, it did. I will always go for a better priced brand, IF, it works as well...on many ranges of products. Now, as long as I shop smart, I am able to find this exact brand & style (I’m keeping her on the BABYCAT stage/level for the recommended 4 months of age) in bulk, at a great price!! I’m able to match, or even beat, the other “top line” brand pricing!! I end up spending approx $1.69/day feeding her a quality product that we both love. There are deals out there!! Bottom Line: Worth it!! For her AND for my nose!!
5.0 out of 5 stars They apparently loved this food
💗❤️💗 We found seven 2-3 week old babies who had been abandoned by their mother. The first week, they were syringe-fed but then an experienced foster lady took them. As they gained weight she started the larger ones on this nice, soft food. She said it’s healthier than most you can get in the chain stores. Wasn’t long and they all were thriving and gaining. I kept the food coming, it cost good money for seven babies but it was healthy, they grew, and she cared for them. The above photo shows the fat little belly of the litter runt, who is now already adopted in his new home. The food wasn’t too smelly, imo, but I didn’t have personal care so can’t say about anything else.
4.0 out of 5 stars Kittens love it!
The consistency of this is great...very moist, mousse consistency. Kittens will chow down on this. The only negative I find is the price. I foster bottle baby kittens up until adoption. I start my babies off with this but have to switch them over to Fancy Feast kitten. I fostered over 70 kittens in a year and cannot afford to keep them on RC for the duration.
Mother and Babycat
This is my kittens’ favourite canned food!
No return
Unfortunately, I bought the wrong kind. I can't return them even though it was not open. So now I am stuck with this. My Sphynx only eats Royal Canin but he is now too old for this baby food. 7 months. It is very expensive but he is so worth it.
Good for kitten’s bowel movement
Is a good item and healthy for kittens with frequent vowel movements! However, kittens become fussy and one of them doesn’t like this now which is a shame.
